Should I text him?

I'm 15 & there's this boy I really like. Some people also would tell me they think he likes me too since he gets really awkward and shy around me when I try talking to him & being nice. But he's বন্ধু with a lot of other girls who seem to like me, but recently they've been অভিনয় different.
I've always been bad at making friends, and talking to the guy I like has always been difficult. We've only ever had theatre & English together. We had to work on a project for theatre so I got his number and we've only texted about the theatre project.
Our school held this end of বছর dance & I kept feeling someone staring at me, & when I would look it would be him and his friends. I get intimidated to talk to him since he's really জনপ্রিয় & whenever we do talk he's really really awkward.But I saw he danced with one of the girls I mentioned before & I saw that they were talking. I didn't watch for long, but I saw him look really upset while she continued to talk on about something. After that, he kept glaring at me & avoiding me the entire dance.
The girl who he danced with found out I liked him, but I got scared about her knowing I liked him; I was worried if he found out I liked him, he would think I was creepy, so I told her I didn't like him anymore. I guess she told him that at the dance, but I'm not really sure. I want to text him just to say 'hey' & start a conversation, but I'm worried he won't reply, অথবা think I'm creepy. I really like him & I don't want to drive him away.
