The play was amazing! I loved the subtle but sarcastic humour and the end was simply breathtaking! They all did an amazing job! And the decorations... so beautiful!

I was fortunate enough to get to see Alan in JGB in Dublin in early October. I was sitting just three rows back from the stage & Juliet Stevenson was directly in front of me - I later bumped into her (literally!) in the ladies loos & spoke to her briefly - well apologised for nearly knocking her over in my haste, to be exact! The play was spectacular & it was just mind-blowing to see Alan at such close proximity. It was an effort to get there - due to illness & other setbacks - but, in the end, I was really glad I made it - I wouldn't feel like a true 'Rickmaniac' if I hadn't! Alan was/is awesome!!

The 'icing on the cake' for me was getting his autograph afterwards. I actually wrote to him for it as I'd lost my nerve to do so on the night of the play! The additional postage on my return SAE was even paid for me - giving me lovely thoughts of a scowling Mr. Rickman queueing up for stamps in the Dublin post office!!

hahahaha, oh that was funny :) Glad you got to go, it was fantastic, wasn't it? I actually got my autograph after the show at the stage door, but damn, the man scared the crap out of me, he was so...intimidating :D

Really? Why was he so intimidating - in what way? I'm asking this because I was afraid of this myself! But you hear such conflicting stories - some say he's really friendly, others say not!

If I had the money, I would so go see this. Unfortunately, one plane ticket to Dublin (from where I live) costs about a thousand dollars alone. Then I'd need a hotel, and food, and transportation . . .

@bri-marie - JGB is in New York now, so maybe there's your chance?

@sevvysgirl - I'm in the not category, though he wasn't really not friendly, just a bit grumpy, plus the way he looked at me when I asked for an autograph for my friend was really scary ;) I still loved seeing him though :D
