(The সেকেন্ড part of the stop in Sacramento)

The car, a white Ford Taurus, labored as it moved all of us through downtown Sacramento. Our destination was a park that had been chosen দ্বারা Brandon, Lilly's new "mate" as a site for a rendezvous. In the ট্রাঙ্ক of the Taurus was a fully kitted out semi-automatic M4 বন্দুক with alaser, a tac light, a scope, grip, and dual mags with FMJ rounds. Riding in a shoulder খাপ, holster was a অশ্বশাবক M1911A1 pistol প্রদত্ত to me দ্বারা Jon, Kate's mate. Before we had left on our half-cocked adventure, he had প্রদত্ত me the weapon with the instructions to "Protect Kate at all costs." I intended to do as he asked.
Within 4 blocks, I could see the park. On the flight in, I had hammered out what our contact would be wearing and I was glad that my M4 had a long range scope on it. I would be able to see the people from a distance.
I retrieved the রাইফেল from the trunk, told the নেকড়ে to stay in the car and howl if they needed help, and climbed up to the roof of what had looked like a dry cleaners. I sighted down the scope.
The hypervivid image of great optics jumped out at me. I could see every button on a shirt, every rivet in a pair of jeans. I panned right and got a visual on our contact. Healthy Hispanic male, approximately 6', wearing a Lilly t-shirt and tan shorts.
"We've got him," I told the group once I had returned to the car.
We drove the last few blocks and double parked. I left the car and walked over to our contact.
"Brandon?" I asked. He nodded. "Let's go."
He followed me to the car and got in the passengers seat.

A few মিনিট later, we were pulling up in front of a small house. A beautiful white নেকড়ে was standing in front of it.
"LILLY!" yelled Garth excitedly. He leaped out of the window and embraced her. Brandon jumped from the car with the air of yelling at someone, but he never got the chance. I jumped from the car too and in a single fluid motion, drew the M1911 and aimed down the sights.
"Freeze!" I yelled. He froze. Lilly and Garth both stared at me. "Back up, Brandon."
He took a step towards me and I automatically took one back.
"What gives, dude? She's my mate!" he yelled at me. I tightened my grip on the weapon. He turned and started walking in Lilly's direction. I told him again to freeze, but he didn't listen, so I pointed the muzzle of the handgun skyward and pulled the trigger. The blast of the gunshot echoed down the রাস্তা and the gun kicked in my hand. The brass casing clinked as it landed on the street.
Brandon jumped a mile in the air. He looked at me like I was crazy, which maybe I was, but he didn't test me again. At this point, I told Scar and Kate that they too could get out of the car and both of them immediately went and hugged Lilly too.
Garth started talking to Lilly in a hurried whisper, which I assumed was a result of the gunshot. She whispered back at him.
At one point in their conversation, I noticed that Garth was crying. This immediately perked my interest, as Alphas shouldn't be crying for any reason.
"-go back, Garth, I প্রণয় Brandon," ব্যক্ত Lilly.
"But why? আপনি loved me first!" Garth argued.
"Garth-" began Kate, intending to soothe him. But he wouldn't be soothed. Garth immediately turned and lunged for Kate. He hadn't moved আরো than a foot before the M1911 was raised.
"Garth!" I screamed, and pulled the trigger.
My aim was dead on, the bullet passing within an inch of Garth's paw. It drilled into a row of ফুল pots, shattering them.
Garth froze.
"Garth, get back in the car," I told him. He did. "Brandon, thanks for letting us see Lilly."
He nodded.
Everyone, including me, wished Lilly luck and we too piled back in the car.
"Now, let's get back to the chopper before we get arrested."
I drove like a bat out of hell through the city, trying to get away.
We reached the airport and made our way to the MD500. I fired the engine and we got in.
"Mike Delta Three Four Three, requesting permission for takeoff, departing to the north."
I received the clearance and we lifted off at 1650.
