Ariana Grande talks how she’s changed over the years and the highlights of 2014

Ariana Grande has had a great 2014, and has continued to enjoy the following of a large and loyal band of fans, the majority of whom have been fans of hers since she first shot to fame starring on children’s TV.

This past Friday, (5th December) the songstress received the news that she had been nominated twice at the 57th annual GRAMMY Awards and she was overjoyed with the accolade…

Since then, Ariana, who will receive the Billboard Women in Music Rising Star Award on the 12th of December, has spoken about just how much she has changed since her acting days.

Fans will remember that she played the role of Cat Valentine in popular Nickelodeon shows ‘Victorious’ and ‘Sam & Cat’ and now, here she is today, a Grammy nominated singer.

Speaking with Billboard she reflected: “A year-and-a-half ago I was wearing a red wig, pretending to be a silly 15-year-old on a television show.”

Since then, she has gone on to release two albums and made history on the Billboard Hot 100 after becoming one of only five female artists to be in the top five for six weeks running.

Along with her in that are Taylor Swift, Iggy Azalea, Jessie J and Nicki Minaj, and of that honour, Arian said: “Now I’m in that company,” adding: “It’s kind of ridiculous.”

Ariana, who is also nominated in the categories for Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance at the 57th Annual GRAMMY Awards, then spoke about her highlights in 2014.

It was again to Billboard that she revealed one of her major highlights, saying: “Performing on the [MTV Video Music Awards] with Jessie J and Nicki Minaj.”

The pint-sized pop star added: “Putting out ‘Problem.’ Spending half of June and most of July with my family in Florida. And, um, [boyfriend Big] Sean.”

As mentioned above, Ariana, like many others, was overjoyed by the news that they she been nominated at the GRAMMY Awards, and she couldn’t hide her excitement on Twitter.

She wrote: “at a loss for words. 2 Grammy noms. thankful to even be considered. my heart is exploding, can’t process it. this means the most. so honored”.
