PART 1:
We’re still in a pit of despair after watching Chuck and Blair have their happiness (yet again) snatched away from them in the fall finale of Gossip Girl and the পরবর্তি episode (5 weeks from now! :O!) is looking like it just might be the most depressing episode in the history of the প্রদর্শনী which is saying a lot. Poor Chuck has had enough pain and we thought we would take this opportunity to celebrate His Majestic Amazingness in order to cheer ourselves up. In case আপনি were unaware, we here at cosmiclovecb hail from the land of Chuckistan. We dunncurr what haters say. We couldn’t be আরো proud of our Chuck-loving heritage and we are about to tell আপনি why.
1. His প্রণয় for Blair. How is it possible to not sigh when seeing how he melts just looking at her? Chuck may have a history with lots of women, but he has only ever loved Blair, and has proven that nothing comes before seeing to the well-being of the প্রণয় of his life–even his own happiness. We only hope that his days of “letting Blair go” have come to pass, now that he has realized that he is everything Blair has ever wanted. She loves him. Every part of him. He is the one she doesn’t want to leave.
2. His unconditional প্রণয় for baby Waldorf. When Chuck says, “I’m going to প্রণয় your baby as much as I প্রণয় you,” we get weepy. That’s a lot of প্রণয় right there. Chuck is a beautiful man who is willing to প্রণয় another man’s child as much as he loves Blair…which means–unconditionally. Chuck has always had an intense desire for a happy family. After losing his mother (twice) and father, Chuck had a parental gap that Lily অগ্রদূত der Woodsen has begun to fill. It was tough for Chuck to let Lily into his heart, but now they have a wonderful mother/son dynamic that warms our heart. He genuinely thinks of Serena as a sister and his “bad influence-big brother” scenes with Eric were priceless. Now that Chuck has had a taste of fatherhood (only to have it tragically torn away) we can only hope and pray that Chuck soon gets the family with Blair that he so desires.
3. His loyalty. Who wouldn’t want to be Chuck’s friend/soulmate? Despite being betrayed দ্বারা pretty much everyone he has ever cared about, Chuck would go to the ends of the earth to protect those he considers বন্ধু and family. Even Humphrey falls under that protective veil these days. All we have to say is: don’t mess with Nathaniel. Chuck always has his back.
4. His complexity. Chuck has had, দ্বারা far, the most convoluted storyline of all the characters on GG, and has struggled with his personal demons since the beginning. He is a damaged individual for sure, but that doesn’t keep him from being awesome in every way imaginable. His growth arc has been particularly entrancing. We’ve never thought of Chuck as “evil” in the first place, but there is something very captivating about a “devil redeemed.”
5. His প্রণয় for Monkey. Has there ever, in the history of Gossip Girl, been anything আরো adorable than the way Chuck cares for that mangy (but super cute) mutt? He dotes on that pup and we appreciate Monkey’s প্রণয় for Chuck as well. Don’t even get us started on the way he calls Monkey’s name. UNF.
6. He is the original king of snark. In that sexy drawl of his, he can make even the most cutting insult sound like purring pillowtalk. Chuck Bass: pwning…well, pretty much everyone…since 2007.
7. His Chuck Bassian fashion style. Can any other straight man out there rock the hell out of purple স্যুইটস্ and পরাকাষ্ঠা bowties the way Chuck does? Not only can he get away with it, he does so fiercely.
8. Chuck’s persistence in building a business and his desire to create his own legacy. There’s something sexy about a businessman who knows how to take charge…and we don’t just mean in the bedroom. The man is savvy.
9. His swagger. To be honest, our obsession with the Bassian saunter might border on unhealthy. The man walks into a room, people shut the fuck up and pay attention. Even when holding a leash, Chuck looks like a bonafide balla’ even just strolling through Central Park.
10. He’s a freaking billionaire. Allow us to be shallow for a moment- The fact that he can fly আপনি to Paris the মিনিট আপনি say when without even considering how much it costs is just the icing on the delicious Chuck খাদ cake. অথবা he might, on a whim, দোল দ্বারা to drop off your পছন্দ macaroons and stockings right before he tells আপনি he loves you. It would also appear that the “richest kid in Manhattan” is using his money for good these days. And out of the goodness of his heart, not just for the tax write-off.
So there আপনি have it. In case আপনি couldn’t tell, we kinda sorta like Chuck. But we also kinda sorta প্রণয় Blair Waldorf (Bass) so stayed tuned for an upcoming post, ”Ramblings of a Blair-hard: Tribute to the Ultimate HBIC.”
Stay strong, babies. Even bipolar princes and twin Cabbage Patch পুতুল can’t keep Chuck and Blair apart for long–and we all know Blair is the ultimate Chuckistan.

As আপনি know, we প্রণয় both Blair and Chuck like Nate loves cougars and Serena loves douchey males. Although this season has প্রদত্ত us the sadz in terms of how they have temporarily replaced Blair with a pod version of herself, we can’t praise enough the awesomeness of Chuck’s growth and we think he gets better and better with every episode (even as the প্রদর্শনী itself gets worse and worse). Since nobody on the প্রদর্শনী seems to appreciate the majesty of Chuck Bass, instead blaming him for everything that ever goes wrong, we figured we would spend some time basking in his plentiful awesomeness.
It’s difficult to know where to begin, প্রদত্ত that EVERYTHING Chuck has done this season has been awesome, but let us start with how good of a friend he has been this season. When nobody else was on Dan’s side after his book “Inside” came out basically mocking all of the বন্ধু he has made since his relationship with Serena began, thus introducing him to his life as an insider, Chuck was a steadfast friend to Dan. He was basically the only one speaking to him for several episodes, tried to cheer him up, actually READ the book, etc. Though Chuck had every reason to be the one interrupting Blair’s bridal shower, he instead only showed up to remove a very drunken Dan from the party. He even took him প্রথমপাতা and tucked his drunk গাধা in. Chuck has always been a fierce and loyal friend, so this is nothing new, except that Dan had, for a short time, crossed over into the category of people whom Chuck considers friends. Lucky, lucky people. Too bad Chuck’s বন্ধু seem to be doing a shitty job of returning the favor.
In addition to being a good friend, Chuck’s main focus this season has been preserving Blair’s happiness. We find it insanely awesome that Chuck tried his damnedest to stay away from Blair throughout the first half of the season in order to preserve her childhood dream of becoming a princess. When he thought Blair was set on marrying Louis and achieving her gag-worthy fairytale, Chuck convinced Louis to stay with Blair, when he was all kinds of butthurt about Dan’s Dair fanfiction. When Blair first began to doubt her choice in Louis as a husband, and when her feelings for Chuck began to resurface in a big way, Chuck chose to prove Blair “right” and চুম্বন her in order to “free her” from her doubts about Louis. Once Chuck realized that Louis could never make Blair happy and that he was the one Blair truly never wanted to leave, he agreed to raise a child that wasn’t his. Not only was he willing to raise Blair’s baby, he was ready to প্রণয় it as much as he loves Blair. We tend to bring this scene up a lot due to it’s level of sheer awesomeness and it’s ability to make us cry happy tears every fucking time. Chuck was prepared to be a father to Blair’s child and build a family with her. Which totally would have happened if it hadn’t been for fucking Tripp and his psychotic desire to destroy Nate. Fuck you, Tripp.
Even on Blair’s wedding day, despite having EVERY opportunity to sabotage Blair’s wedding to Louis, and KNOWING that he is the one she never wants to leave and wants to spend the rest of her life with, Chuck took it upon himself to poison Father Cavalia in order to put a stop to the priest’s attempts to ruin Blair’s wedding. Maybe if Father Doucheypants hadn’t been so unpriestly from the get-go, the (then) future Princess of Monaco wouldn’t be trying to oust him from the Royal Court.
But anyway, back to Chuck Bass. We loved watching him scheme again and nothing is better than a scheme done out of the প্রণয় and goodness of Chuck’s heart, to make certain that Blair Waldorf (Bass) had the best wedding দিন ever. After kicking out Father Cavalia, Chuck stayed at the Empire with no intentions of going anywhere near Blair’s wedding. Alas, some people had other plans for him. Namely, Chuck’s future mother-in-law, one Eleanor Waldorf, original HBIC.
Once Eleanor and others appealed to him, leading him to the realization that Louis wouldn’t make her happy and that it was in fact CHUCK who held Blair’s heart, he showed up to try one last time to talk sense into Blair. He begged. He pleaded. He reasoned. He used…LOGIC. And he maintained his dignity throughout. Even knowing later that it was Blair’s stupid pact keeping her from him, Chuck took the high road. Though he was clear in letting her know that he was আরো than willing to stand in Louis’s place and become her husband, he stepped down when Blair seemed “happy” to be marrying Louis. হৃদয় in his throat, we’re sure, he didn’t interfere, although Gossip Girl took care of that for him. Chuck, at probably the most depressed and frustrated he’s ever been, kept to the course of awesomeness. In fact, at this point, he might actually be verging on Saint Chuck.
As much as we adore Saint Chuck, we miss seeing him put that brilliant mind to work. Now that Chuck knows the “fairytale” is doomed, he is determined to save Blair. This is awesome because knowing that Blair loves HIM and is staying away from him due to her pact with God, he is not likely to let this go anytime soon. Chuck was আরো than willing to lay low when he thought Louis was who Blair wanted, but he has a great memory (as do we) and Blair told him specifically that he was IT for her. After hearing that, he’s not going to let her go without a fight. If he does down, he will do so in a blaze of glory, we’re sure. (Pun…intended). He’ll get his girl. After all, she loves him আরো and আরো every day.
In an attempt to be diplomatic, we thought we should also discuss Not Awesome Things Chuck Has Done. Here we go!

We can’t think of anything. Okay, maybe this: It seems that everyone is so ready to blame Chuck for pretty much everything that goes wrong, and he just takes it. He already apologized for all of his wrongdoings in 5.6 and it was brilliant. He’s continued to apologize in many facets. But now, we think it’s time other people start taking responsibilities for their OWN fuckups and stop blaming Chuck.
Seriously. Could we ask for a আরো awesome Chuck Bass? He’s always been amazing in a plethora of ways, but falling in প্রণয় with Blair in Season One changed him completely and began the road to the perfection he has become. Though he’s had moments of regression that left a lot to be desired, we’ve never thought he was the villain he thought himself to be. Let’s be honest here, the man has had আরো heartbreak than anyone else on the show. After suffering such loss and betrayal that Chuck has, many of us here in the real world would have spiraled so far down, there would be no light of দিন again. Yet, Chuck has risen to the occasion and is so full of light these days, that our hearts are exploding rainbows for him.
