The very first episode of the Vampire Diaries that I saw was the সেকেন্ড episode of the first season. I did not ship Delena the মিনিট I saw them together. I shipped Stelena first. I was shipping Stelena first because I thought Stefan was a perfect fit. He was good for Elena. And Damon was the bad boy come to town to destroy his little brother's life and try to steal his girl. I kept that opinion of Damon until the episodes Blood Brothers and Isobel premired. Then in the season one finale I found myself cheering when I thought Damon kissed Elena.
To me I found Stefan and Elena's relationship sweet, comfortable, and stable. As well as utterly boring. All of those things need to be present in a relationship but there also needs to be fire, heat, and passion. The Stefan and Elena প্রণয় scene in Season One episode ten paled in comparsion to the make out session between Damon and Elena in Season Three episode 19. But back to the first season and why I changed my mind about Stelena. They were sweet. But Damon helped Elena. He helped her to open her eyes. Things that mattered to her before her parents death didn't matter now. He understood that and told her to সরানো on. Those things won't matter again. Damon helped Elena loosen up in Bloodlines to take a time-out for five minutes. To let go and live again. Stefan didn't do that, he was always serious. He even wanted to push her away at one point. Damon never lied to Elena even when talking about his past he told the truth. Stefan hid the truth and avoided it. Damon told her the truth even if it hurt. Stefan didn't.
I changed my mind because I saw Stefan as a flat character where Damon had layers to him. Damon wanted to be loved. Everyone has choosen Stefan over him ever since 1864. So Damon finds it much easier to push people away before he gets close and they choose Stefan on him again. Elena saw there was good in him. She saw he was looking for love, for someone to care about him. So she decided to step up and be that person. Even way back in the first season I could see Elena made Damon a better person and Damon changed Elena too. They were good for each other. Elena cared about Damon making him a better man. Damon showed Elena how to have fun again, how to smile, and use the আগুন inside of her. Even in the first season there was a আগুন between them.
What happened over the পরবর্তি two seasons only served to strengthen the reasoning behind Delena over Stelena for me. Damon needs Elena. He needs someone to care about him. Elena needs someone who will push her buttons and make her think twice.
The episode হৃদয় of Darkness which premired on April 19th, 2012 only confirmed that there is a spark between Damon and Elena. For all the time's she's hated him. All the times they've argued and fought with each other. There was always real passion and flare to them. It doesn't matter what they're doing. If they're arguing, talking, denying what they feel, hating, there's আগুন between them that's fueled everything between them. And it was evident in that চুম্বন that almost set the motel on fire. I ship Delena because there's pure chemistry between them and everything they do.
