Caroline Forbes has always been one of my পছন্দ characters in TVD. Not just physically (she can be pretty badass when she wants to be). After becoming a vampire, she has displayed such depth that people hadn’t really expected from her when she was still human. With all these traits, she had completely won me over.
However, I am now at a point where I am conflicted. In the past two episodes, Caroline has made it clear where her allegiance lay in the battle to Elena’s heart, which is with Stefan. In all honesty, this really isn’t the worst part. Nor the most surprising. What I couldn’t take is her thinking so lowly of Damon. It doesn’t matter how much he has proven to the contrary. To her, he is still that monster who wasn’t capable of caring and who had done pretty horrible things. And it doesn’t help that Caroline meddled দ্বারা coaxing Elena into asking Stefan to the 20s dance.
It’s quite ambivalent, this feeling. I প্রণয় her. But I hate her.
So I’ve been trying to figure out how the mind of one Caroline Forbes works. And I’ve come with three arguments that somehow convinced me that Caroline’s opinion, although not wrong, isn’t necessarily the best.
The first one is actually the most obvious. Stefan is her friend. He had been there for her during the hardest parts of her life after becoming a vampire. It was expected that she’d side with him. And it doesn’t do any good that Damon did nearly unforgivable things to her. What I think is that Caroline’s opinion is a bit biased. She sees the good in Stefan, but she does not recognize that Damon is capable of the same. It can also work the other way around. Caroline sees the bad in Damon, but she can’t with Stefan because she’s used to him being the good brother.
সেকেন্ড point… I’ve stated above that Caroline has shown such depth after becoming a vampire in season 2. This is still true even after the last episode, but we’ve gotten used to this particular side of Caroline that we’ve forgotten that she’s just like Elena. She’s now an immortal, yes, but she hasn’t been one that long. She’s still an 18 বছর old girl, not just physically, but also emotionally and spiritually. So we really can’t condemn her for speaking up based on what she’s seen so far, which is far less than what Rose had. Caroline isn’t wrong. The point is that she’s basing it on a much weaker foundation because of her experiences which, although horrible, are not that many.
Caroline ব্যক্ত she wouldn’t go down without a fight because Stefan is Elena’s epic love.

Now compare that with Rose’s opinion…
Rose delivered a very realistic and believable speech about why Damon and Elena should be together. Elena makes Damon a better person. And he changes her, too. Rose did not come up with this on a whim. That speech was based on experiences accumulated from hundreds of years of existence.
My last argument is definitely just a guess. I think Caroline is undergoing the same dilemma as Elena. Tyler versus Klaus… Tyler represents the safer choice, like Stefan. He could kill her with a bite but ultimately, he’s not the enemy. Caroline will face the easier road with him. On the other hand, Klaus is like Damon. He is the guy so twisted that he would stop at nothing just to bring havoc to all of their lives. To Caroline, he should not even be an option. He is their enemy for crying out loud! But to her dismay, she can’t help but to think of him. Maybe not because of love, but definitely because of the things he has offered to প্রদর্শনী her. Klaus forces her to see a life beyond Mystic Falls. He has painted a picture in her mind of what she can do with immortality. And Caroline wants that… But she shouldn’t.
