Rapunzel is not the kind of girl who takes crap from anyone and lets face it, the entire concept behind Belle/Beast relationship was about Beast being a ~ typical man who needs to be introduced to some table manners which in itself is ridiculous because mannerism doesn't define a personality growth. Rapunzel didn't let Flynn treat her wrongly - and not that he ever did aside from the thug pub incident when the whole thing technically backfired on him rather than on her and not like he meant to hold her hostage like Beast did Belle - and she eventually got drawn to his sassiness and ability to handle a light hearted conversation therefore Beast would seem way too brooding and boring to her imo.

I think she'd like Aladdin or Eric, someone she could have fun with.

I chose the Beast for a different reason. I don't think Rapunzel will have the needed patience and strength to face the Beast in his worst period. I don't think she'd find the way to make him a better person.

I never said Belle took crap from anyone, including Beast. But the premise and concept behind Belle/Beast relationship was the tired statement that "men will be men" therefore you have to put up with their inability to control their temper as long as they work on themselves and it would be nice if you teach them how to behave at the table because initially men are supposedly incapable of handling it with grace because hey, they are just men. Not to say manerism cannot add you bonus points, but Rapunzel clearly didn't find such superficial things to be significant, she cared about Flynn and his growth on emotional level, providing a support and comfort he needed and indirectly inspiring him to be a better person despite how misguided and lost he ws due to objective reasons whereas Belle seemed to first and foremost try to fit Beast into a certain standard/ideal of a man defined by good manners and basic reading skills.

@maryksand: I don't think mannerism is superficial. Nor reading is something, which is not important. In the end of the day what would you prefer: a educated man with manners or a man with no manners, and no reading abilities...

I think what she is drawn to in Flynn is the underlying good man, the fact that there is more to him than is on the surface. Eric, while a nice guy, is pretty much what-you-see-is-what-you-get. I also think Shang wouldn't be a great match for her because of the point jainabieber made. I feel like I could be reading her wrong, though, but that's what I get from her.

@BelleAnastasia to me personally, education, reading skills and manners play a very insignificant role in terms of my perception of people and definitely are not a deciding factor in viewing someone as a good person or a potential romantic interest whom I can have a functional relationship with. But that, however, is just me. And that's also the impression I got from Rapunzel's character and her relationship with Flynn since she didn't seem to care at all about his lack of good manners and yet still managed to see a good person behind the hard exterior, inspiring him to rebuild his life and reform on emotional level by reconsidering his life choices rather than trying to force the idea of mannerism and reading on him as the ultimate definition of evolation/development.
