No contest here. Pocahontas lets go of John in the end of the movie because "she was needed there", a weird thing to say considering that it's very likely that her whole life she didn't do more in the village than running around and jumping off cliffes.

I know the ending may prove otherwise, but I just felt the need to choose this...not exactly sure why..

Okay yes, she let him go. But the point of her being needed there was SHE was the voice of reason and she needed to make sure no wars went down and that everything went smoothly.


I think her because when the two sides become enemies, John wants to give up rather than start a friendly chat with the Indians. Pocahontas wants it to work out and not have any problems from any side.

She was truly needed by her people. They knew this wasn't going to be the last of different races invading their land. She knew her father was too rash to handle the situations of war. So she would have to step in. And she was going to have to lead the tribe after her father's demise.
