Mulan is a soldier and while I love Merida her only combat experience is up against her father while saving Elinor. She's certainly a capable fighter but Mulan is the one who's actually witnessed the horrors of war.

Merida actually does fight. She fights her dad, and the other princes in order to protect her mom.

Mulan. No question. Don't even get me started.

Merida is better than Mulan.

Mulan is braver than Merida.

I feel Merida is more fearless, Mulan is more brave.

The question is asking which princess is better, not which princess is more brave.

The false advertisement for Brave made us believe that Merida was kick-butt, but she really isn't IMO.
