I made this poll on account of my friends not having seen any Disney movies ever. I'm looking for the movie where you can say "YOU'VE NEVER SEEN [insert your answer here]?!? FOR SHAME!" Beauty and the Beast is not my favorite DP movie, but I feel like most people should see it, almost like a rite of passage for watching Disney movies, if that makes any sense.

Um. That would be Mulan--- because Brave feels like a poor rip-off, somewhat. And quite a few of the people who claim to dislike Disney Princesses, also claim that their heroines need a man to save them. Mulan clearly DOESN'T.

I guess. I think most of them are worth for everyone to see, though. :)

I have reasons to pick this one. Not only is it a VERY underrated Disney movie and I would love people to see it. But I am sick of no-good uncultured parents saying Disney Princesses are bad role models. I see some of their points if not all about Ariel and Aurora, but I would definitely point them to Mulan.
Snow White: A good one to see but not important plus it's not for everyone
Cinderella: I definitely think people should see this
Sleeping Beauty: Not a for shame movie and pointless for Disney knowledge
The little mermaid: For me, it's a definite skip. It didn't do much for Disney and it wouldn't matter if you haven't seen it
BATB: This is a for shame one, but I was very disappointing with it. It was boring and had many plot holes. I don't think it's that important to see
Pocahontas: The only one on here badly rated. I love it but it's historical inaccurate and the sequel sucks so I say skip
Mulan: Tell them to watch it and shove it up the throat of Disney haters.
PATF: Skip
Tangled: The first CGI movie and important as it was Disney 50th movie, I saw watch it.
Brave: Poor rip-off with bad jokes. The only thing I like is The mother daughter relationship and I LOVE Merida. But it's still a skip.
Frozen: I say definitely check it out. They've probably already heard of it form tumblr and reviewers but people will kill them if they haven't seen it and not everyone likes it, so they should definitely check it out. This is the movie that got a lot of people into Disney and they will probably love the characters and songs (Just like me!)
That concludes another random ramble for Sk8er__grl, take a gift basket for your time!

You can't watch it just once. Also I would say Mulan.

Sk8er_grl, I wouldn't say Mulan is underrated. EVERYONE loves that movie. If any Disney movie was underrated it isn't Mulan.

Anyway, this is just so classic and amazing.

@shanyuisboss Maybe it's just because of the people I hang out with. I tried to get my friend to watch it and she said she wouldn't because, and I quote, not even joking, "The girl in the poster looks really ugly" Yep. I also think it's underrated because lots of parents forget about the kick-butt Mulan, Disney never puts her on any merchandise, and people say that either Merida or Anna and Elsa were the first real feminists. Even if they are, Mulan was still first.

@clsmith03 Wow, REALLY!? Thank you!

I think there are two that you absolutely cannot die before you watch them: The Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast! :)

JungleQueen13 picked Pocahontas (1995):
My choice is based on what I think people can walk away with after having seen the movie, rather than its cinematic quality or entertainment value. And I personally think Pocahontas is the best for messages that aren't often found elsewhere in today's media. My next choices would be Beauty and the Beast and Mulan.

I think Mulan is probably one of the most important Disney films. It showcases a strong heroine, beautiful animation and music, and great discussion points about gender roles and society.

I may be a bit biased, however, as it's probably my favorite Disney movie ever.

It deals with more serious issues than the others. It makes your mind think about the issues, and it focuses on the story more than the humor and sidekicks.

This movie's moral is strong and beautiful. As well as the animation and soundtrack. Also Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, I mean, Dwarfs XD Since it is the first full length, theatrical film.

Silverrose1991 picked Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937):
It was the first feature-film of its kind (yes, I'm aware it wasn't the first animated movie, but the ones that came before it didn't use the same technique), a milestone in Film History, so I think it is a must-see. Though all Disney Princess movies are worth a watch for one reason or another.
