ডিজনি জগতের রাজকন্যা Does it bug আপনি that ফ্রোজেন is known for "the first where there is no prince!" and people forget that Merida never had a প্রণয় interest?
Mulan didn't really have a prince, either. It's perfectly acceptable to see Mulan and Shang as just friends, within the context of the first movie anyway.
While it bothers me how Frozen gets credit for things many other Disney movies did before, Brave having no prince didn't go unnoticed by people, at least that's what I think. There were so many feminists praising Brave for being the first Disney movie with no prince. I find stupid the fact that they say Frozen is so revolutionary for having no romance since they do have Kristoff getting together with Anna, but I don't believe it's unfair for Brave, since it had its fair share of praise.
It's definitely an issue, but it doesn't bother me immensely. People often complain about how Brave drilled the feminism complex in, then in Frozen when it really has romance and barely shows anything related to feminism they go about stretching it out and drilling it in, when it's barely there in the first place.
Wholeheartedly agree with AudreyFreak. It also bothered me that people praised Frozen as the first movie to focus on familial love. Um, no it wasn't! It was the first to show someone saved by familial love but it wasn't the first movie to portray family love. Lilo and Sitch focused on family love. Mulan focused on the relationship between Mulan and her dad. The Little Mermaid showed Ariel and her father. Pocahontas demonstrated the heroine and her dad.
Yes, I don't know why they praise a heroine for not having a love interest. What is wrong with that? You don't see them praising some of the Disney heroes who don't have girlfriends such as Basil, Quasimodo, Wreck-it-Ralph, and Sulley. So why pick on the heroines? Besides, I felt that the they're trying to discourage girls like me from trying to get married because of their non-stop praise of any heroine not having a love interest.
Brave is the one where is no Prince/romance.
