The live-action one is gorgeous, but looks more like a prom dress than a ballgown. The animated one is the most gorgeous item of clothing I've ever laid my eyes on.

I prefer the color of the animated version, but the design is prettier in the live-action.

The live action does look like a prom dress, just as hatelarxene said. That's why I prefer the original.

I agree, it looks prom-ish. Plus I'm sick of Cinderella in blue. this one looks more magical as it's supposed to be and the color is stunning, and it makes her hair color pop..

Both are gorgeous dresses! I do like the animated one more because it is prettier but I do think the live-action one is more meaningful. The animated one is completely different from the mother's dress. It's a completely different material and the design is not similar at all. In the live-action one, the Fairy Godmother said she would just update her mother's dress a little bit and change the color because she knew how much it meant to Cinderella to wear her mother's dress, so it would feel like she's still with her. The live-action one is still made from the same material as the mother's dress but was just brought up to date, made sparkly, and was changed to the color blue. So I do still like the animated one better but the live-action one actually is more meaningful in a sense.

While the original is pretty, but not really anything special, the 2015 one is ASTOUNDING!!

I like both of them equally! Both of them are beautiful in their own way.
