She's gorgeous but to quote Derek from The Swan Princess "What else is there?" She's a blank slate that a lot of people just like to use as a self-insert and project themselves onto. Lola Bunny from Space Jam had even less screentime than Aurora did and Lola has a lot more personality than Aurora. People say she's shy but she showed NOTHING that would indicate that other than when she was trying to get away from Phillip. However, I think that was more of trying to get away from some random stranger who kept on grabbing your arm/hand every time you try to break free and get away. To me, she's just the stereotypical boring fairy-tale princess that does nothing, has little to no character, and just sings and looks pretty. The animators didn't even bother to animate her after she fell into the sleeping curse and just painted her like a background until she woke up.

Ultimately she just serves her purpose in the plot, we get to see a little bit of her when she's in the forest but it's not enough to give her depth.

To clarify, it depends WHICH other princesses. She has just as much personality as, for example, Anna or Snow White, but not as much as Mulan or Rapunzel have.

I think the opposite... she has depth but her personality doesn't get to show as much because of her screentime and limited interactions. I feel a lot in her especially when she's singing I Wonder and around that scene. She still shows a fair amount of personality though and I think it's good.

i think she's about average - not exceptionally flat like most people accuse her of being, but there are also princesses who have more depth or are less trope-y.

screentime is such a bad yardstick for measuring character.

Lola was only made to be eye candy and she's not even Disney- why does she always get brought up?

But yeah, I think what another person once said is true: if you took any of the other princesses and cut their screen time down to 18 minutes, you'd likely learn as much about them as we do Aurora. Whether or not anyone thinks that amounts to much is purely an opinion. And then there's that Jasmine and Elsa actually do have shorter screen time. I don't see why people liking Aurora is such a big deal, though. There are much flatter characters that get love here.
