I think Hans potrayal was very one sided. It would be interesting to see his story with his brothers and maybe. He could be your typical sympathized villain.
Although, I would've loved to be able to see more of Hans and his backstory, to help us understand more about his motives. Hans, unfortunately, was one of the weakest elements of the film. It's too bad because he was a likable and entertaining character before that dumb plot twist.
Because Anna has some sympathetic instances in her characterization.
Hans, meanwhile, just represents every sore loser who can't get a girlfriend, and blames the other half of the human race for this fact. He then has "to fake" that he loves a person to get their attention--- or their crown/kingdom. Lame.
The Hans twist was a bit too ridiculous to make him an interesting character. And it sends such a strange message - if a guy comes across as nice, polite, handsome, then it's too good to be true, he could be a psychopath. You're far better off trusting the guy who bickers with you constantly and was raised by trolls.
Anna at least is a much more believable character, and her suffering makes her more interesting.
