I think all the early princesses are more Naive then the later ones. Ariel, Jasmine, Belle, Tiana, Pocahontas, and Mulan all have some girl power in their heads. Thank heavens you told me, I was just about to charter a ship to find the land of Maldonia (since my atlas tells me it's not there, but as it was mentioned in Disney I naturally thought it truly existed, and must set out to find it's location and set the atlas people straight.) Everyone knows they aren't real. It's not like anyone's furiously debating, this question's just a way to talk about different perceptions of characters we like. It doesn't mean people need to grow up. She has never, in all the time she was on screen, had a moment of critical thinking and weighing options. At least Aurora, the little we see of her, is wary of the guy she HAS NEVER MET, whereas Ariel pretty much sells her soul for the guy SHE HAS NEVER MET.
