In all the other disney princess films, there seems to be a moment that really stands out. For example, Cinderella presenting the other slipper. Mulan cutting her hair. Pocahontas saving John. Beast's transformation. The wave splashing up behind Ariel. A moment that is really iconic to the film and I think most people could identify and name which movie it was from, or remember from their childhood.
I think Princess and the Frog was lacking in a moment like this. What do you guys think?
I agree. There's nothing that really stood out to me. To be honest with you, this movie is more dull than the others. The only plus I can think of is that the animation in it was nice and that Naveen and Charlotte are awesome.
Gah, I keep editing this. The only thing that comes close to a memorable moment is when they transform back, but that is because it seems like a rip off of the Swan Princess animation with the water and light effects...the exact same. Did anyone else notice this?!
The transformation scene, the balcony scene, and the scene where Tiana and Naveen admit they love eachother are just as memorable as the moments you mentioned IMO.
Yes! It was very much lacking in a memorable moment. Arguably it could be where Tiana kissed Naveen in frog form or the transformation at their wedding but neither moments where all that great to me.
The film was lacking in soooo much, but an iconic moment the most.
I'm probably just saying no because I watch the movie so much and I remember so much of it. But it could also be a matter of opinion. The iconic moment would be the one that stuck out the most or that had the most to do with the plot. Maybe a combination of the two of them. But I think there are some scenes that are specifically memorable for certain reasons.
Naveen trying to propose to Tiana: It wasn't just because it was funny watching Naveen be all clumsy and screwing up. It was also a really cute scene. And the fact that it was more seen there than any other before how he acted around Tiana, you saw the change in his character.
The transformation scene: We all saw it coming, but it was the magic of seeing it happening and finally going, "There it is! There's that happy ending!" is what made it so memorable. We were waiting for it and it felt so much better watching it than imagining it. The effects and the brightness of the whole scene were incredible. Even though it could be considered not as special as Beast's transformation, also depending on opinions, I love it just as much.
Out of all the scenes in the movie, the ones that stick out the most to me and are most memorable are when they do transform and when Naveen says Tiana is his Evangeline.
Snow White: hand dropping the apple
Cinderella: dress transformation
Sleeping Beauty: dragon fight
Little Mermaid: reprise with the wave
Beauty and the Beast: shot during the dance, where the camera pans down than back up
Aladdin: friend like me
Pocahontas: colors of the wind
Mulan: hair chopping
Princess and the Frog: (I had to think about this for a minute, but if anything is memorable, it is Tiana's line near the end about Naveen marrying himself a princess)
I dont know I think it may have been little but it was there. The other Princess ones were more dramatic and noticable. This one was when I think she was in that voodoo dream and she finally figured out whats important.
I found tons of it iconic. When someone mentions PatF to me, tons of scenes go whizzing through my head. The iconic one for me though is definitely when she tells Faci where to stick it and realises that she has to keep focused on what's important... And that her dream will never be complete without the people she loves.
I had to really think on this one...when I watch a Princess movie, I normally skip to the parts I love (Snow White's kiss, Cinderella's dress transformation, "Once Upon a Dream"...), but I don't really have any favorite parts from PATF...it's a cute movie and all...I think a lot has to do with that fact that I didn't grow up watching it, like all the others...maybe that's why it's not so memorable to me.
