Sociopaths in Sweater Vests - Topher as an Autistic Character 

Interesting stuff. I'm not too sure about Topher because i've always felt his social problems have just stemmed from him being a bit of a jerk when the show started. But him being a high functioning autistic is an interesting spin.

He is a bit of a jerk, but he does have certain traits that make him seem like he's on the autistic spectrum. He is very intelligent in certain specific areas, seems ignorant of proper social interaction, has weird mannerisms, is often off in his own world, and then there's the stereotypical lack of empathy to some extent. If Joss didn't intend him to be autistic, he certainly gave him a lot of qualities of high-functioning autism.
