Disneyfan9648 Interesting article, yet I have to say I disagree with most of it. Let me show you some things that can hopefully make you see more clearly. First off, your article was very hard to read. There were many errors throughout the essay and it makes my brain hurt. Did you write this on your phone or tablet? It seems that every fourth word has been auto corrected, making it even harder to understand, but, frankly, if the article was written perfectly with no auto corrects I would still be lost. Plot holes 1. Kristoff's back story was a bit confusing I agree, but yes, it is kidnapping and I find that that is the only reason needed for his backstory. 2. Here's the deal. Elsa has snow powers. When you say fresh snow I say she can walk on snow because of her snow powers, review the scene where the song "let it go" happens if you don't believe me, but she created the snow. Therefore, she could have run ahead before the snow was on the ground. You say horse I say she didn't know where to go. Elsa knew that she was running up to the North Mountain, but Anna did not know that she went there. Also, because of Elsa's snow powers she did not need to stop and buy warm clothes like Anna did. You have no way to know that Anna went the same direction that Elsa did; they could have taken a different turn somewhere, you know? 3. I don't know who these people are that say the powers were a family gift or that nonsense. Neither of the parents had the powers and I'm assuming the grandparents as well, because then they would know how to control it, but Elsa is the first generation Snow Queen. 4. Watch the film for a third time and maybe you will see that Hans is at least four feet away. You also have to realize that Hans was talking to Elsa and making her suffer for what she did to Anna. If you would have gotten it over in a second flat then you would not be that good of a villain. By not killing Elsa in a second Hans allowed her last few seconds on Earth be that of agony and despair. A little more evil don't ya think? But I do agree with Anna's new ability to run fast, but in the scope of things it doesn't really matter. 5. First off, I have no idea who grace is or BtT is. Define your variables before using them next time. Anyway, why kill Anna when she will die anyway? Also, she was so weak she could barely stand up or even walk, how could she have made enough noise for someone to hear? 6. Yes Olaf showed up unexplainably, but how do you know how much time had passed? It did cut to Elsa while she was breaking out of prison and Hans telling the council that Anna was dead, so how long could that have been? It could have been a hour or two. This gives olaf time to search, although it still might be a little quick, it is more time than what you are thinking. 7. The reason that Hans can get up the mountain and take Elsa back to the castle before Anna gets there is simple. When Kristoff figures out that she had been hit by the ice magic, he takes her to a place for her to get fixed: the trolls. So Hans gets to the castle and brings Elsa back before Anna gets there because Anna and Kristoff go to a middle point and were too busy trying to save her and by getting married. Also finding the stairs to the castle makes perfect sense and is not lame. Answer me this question and you might find out why, "How did Elsa get to her castle?" That's right, she made the stairs to it. So Elsa made the stairs to the castle and Olaf found them. If they would have climbed the mountain then they would be on the peak of it, where as Elsa's castle was on the side and not quite on the peak. I give the plot a 4 out of 5 for the plot holes they did have, such as who ran the country while Elsa was not of age. I find that to be the only major plot whole. Characters Anna: I don't understand how you can say that you like the character and then bash them down that way, but let's get started. Yes. Rapunzel and Anna are very similar. I say this is due to the fact that for the majority of their lives they were alone and had no friends to play with. This causes them to play with themselves, and to entertain yourself, you often have to be a little crazy and off the wall. I agree that she fell in love with Hans way too quickly, but I forgive her because she had never had any friends. When she meets Hans, she finds him nice, charming and romantic. This can also be blamed on the fact that she grew up with no one and therefore doesn't know what loving, or liking someone really feels like. As Hans said, "You were so desperate for love you were willing to marry me, just like that." and she was because of the stories of love that she's heard and the fact that she has never been with anyone. Now to Kristoff. She did not run off with him in love or anything like the way you are trying to make it sound. She paid him to bring her up the mountain, if it were a mountain girl instead of a mountain man, she would have done the same thing. She doesn't know when to stop or shut her mouth because, as I've said before, she's never had anyone to tell her that and she must always talk to herself to keep sane. If you say that she didn't seem Disney, then I think it is safe to say that you feel Rapunzel is also not Disney. Elsa: Yes, Elsa does not develop until the final seconds of the film. This is because she is developing throughout the entire film. She was afraid to hurt anyone with her powers, so she hid in her room to protect people from that. When she moves to North Mountain, she develops even more as she "lets go" of her fears. Also Elsa might seem like a villain at sometimes and I bet Disney did change her from villain to heroine many times. You can see her as a villain in one of the trailers, but you have to see that one of the main villains in this movie are her own powers. This is called internal conflict and it is very common in movies and books, that is why there is not a main villain throughout the film until Anna is back at the castle freezing to death. Kristoff: There is really no way to argue the way you put him into your words in your article. I don't think that he hides the rest of him to the world. He told everyone his real name and he doesn't lie about anything personal. Yes he avoids talking about his troll friends, but unless you say that his living with trolls is his entire character, he cannot be hiding himself from the rest of the world. Yes, he is a little under developed, but unlike the prince and prince charming, you actually get to see him interact with his princess for half the movie, where you learn many things about him, such as: what he does for a living, who he's living with and what not, so I would say that he is more developed than the princes you mentioned. Hans: I thought a couple of points in time that he could be evil, but Disney did a good job of playing that off to make me believe that he was not evil. Boy was I shocked when he came out, of course, if I look at Hans throughout the movie in hindsight, I can see all the points where it shows he’s evil, well played Disney. You might think that he is not the best Disney villain because he did not do much evil, and to that I say boo, excuse my potty mouth. The reason why he did not do much evil is because for most of the movie, we were fighting with the internal conflict I told you about awhile ago. You say, or say that other people say, that he is like Frollo because he fell in love with the heroine of the film but that is also bull. He did not fall in love with her, only used her. He even proves this when he says, "Oh, Anna. If only there was someone out there who loved you." Go ahead and clean up your virtual throw up. Olaf: Again there is not much to say. First off I would like to point out that Ice Age is not made by Disney, and also, not even a princess movie. He was comedic relief, that's his job, and by saying that he reminds you of Genie, Mushu, Ray and the "sloe" I assume that you think they are messes too. That's all I have to say. Duke of Weselton: Not a lame character at all. He is a Duke who is the major trade partner with Arendelle and by getting Elsa out of the way, he can take more control over the trade business and learn how to make Weselton even more powerful. The King and Queen of Arendelle: if the parents were already dead when the film started, Anna would have died in the first five minutes. If you say that they should stay alive and pull another Mulan, Tiana or Rapunzel the movie would have been basically the exact same. I'm glad it was this way, and if it had been made your way, when you write your review, you would have said, "this movie was exactly like Mulan, Tiana and Rapunzel, Disney needs to be more original!" Also the parents were useful for many things. For one, they saved Anna's life, who else would have known to go to the troll king? Also, the king gave Elsa her gloves, and helped her with the mantra they made, "Conceal it, don't feel it, don't let it show," where, "don't let them in," and "don't let them see, be the good girl you always have to be," was added later. The king was continuously trying to help Elsa control her powers and if he had lived, could have gotten very close to controlling it. Marshmallow: not even a character, there is no real need to even mention him. Sven: useless? No. He was a form of comedic relief and a way to really see Kristoff's character The maid and door man: I don't agree that they were running the country, although I have no idea who was, I agree with you 100% on that plot hole, and they aren't very important so why even bother? I don't know how you can bash the characters so bad and give them a 3 out of 5. It doesn't really look like you loved them. 5 out of 5 for well developed, lovable, and hatable, characters. The Relationships Elsa and Anna: Yes, Lilo and Lani had a great relationship, but this was more developed. You say that the fight scene in the castle goes too far for a movie. This confuses me a great deal because Lilo and Lani were constantly yelling at each other throughout Lilo and Stitch. Yes, they fight, but I have many siblings and we do that a lot together, do you have siblings? I thought the fight was natural and believable, Anna being mad at Elsa for not letting her marry Hans, and Elsa being terrified of her powers and how to deal with it. That's pretty deep, unlike Lani and Lilo who seemed in the beginning to be just yelling at each other just to yell. The part you say about singing in a critical point in time is ridiculous considering it is a musical. If you say that you might as well say that having a bunch of ruffians in the Snuggly Duckling, in Tangled, would be an awkward time to sing to two people that just came into your tavern. I don't know if you have the right definition of rushed. You have used this word twice and I am starting to think you are using it to make you sound smarter. In both cases you have used this word and I disagree with it. Just saying. Hans and Anna: HAHAHAHAH YES. It was fake from the start. Hans never loved her, so of course it seemed like a Carl and Ellie love tale because that is exactly the way Hans wanted it to be. Kristoff and Anna: Better than the relationship with Hans, no duh. This relationship was real and here is the word rushed again. How 'bout you explain how it was rushed because I thought that it was not rushed. Their relationship didn't even get off the ground until Kristoff decides to go back to save her. Their relationship is this in a nutshell: Kristoff crushes on Anna for the second half of the movie, Kristoff goes to save her, Anna finds out that he loves her, they get together. Doesn't sound rushed to me. The relationships were fine, but they flew in one eye and out the other for you. 5 out of 5 for flawless detail. Songs One of the best things of this film. Not only were they Disney, but they also were like Broadway, probably due to the fact that one of the main singers was Idina Menzel (look her up). I don't really understand how you can connect them to HSM. Those songs were crap and these ones were great. Yes, these songs were memorable and I love to sing them every day. I don't really know what you mean when you say that the music in Tangled fit the film and that Frozen didn't. Did you want every song in Norwegian? They fit the film like a glove fits a hand and I don't see how you can see it that way. Please explain. Also, the songs probably remind you of other songs because of Idina Menzel. She sings a lot of other pieces and her voice is iconic. I don't really see how you can say that the music was better in Brave, when there was only one song in Brave with lyrics and it wasn't even sung by a character.... your logic seems off. Do you want less singing songs in all the movies? 5 out of 5 for good, epic and memorable songs. Score Memorable and fits the movie in every way. Can you explain bumpy? thanks 5 out of 5 Animation: Simply Excellent 5 out of 5 Final Thoughts Frozen was a heartfelt adventure that made you see the true love between siblings. You can't say anything about someone saying “The best film since the lion king,” you cannot blame it on Disney, that was a review that someone else made that they put in their trailer. Your sports metaphors don't work on me, but I got some too. With every pitch the ball was hit out of the park, the ball was caught on opening kickoff and ran back 109 yards for a touchdown and there was a half court buzzer shot to win the game for Disney. Frozen was an excellent film, and I am getting the feeling you are trying to bash it on purpose, not because it was really bad. 29 out of 30 or if you want it in stars 4.5 or 5. There you go, in your Lilo and Stitch comparison article, please check your auto correct and make it a little more fluent. Thanks
