ফ্রোজেন Article: My Problem with "Let it Go"

I can already see the hate I'm going to get দ্বারা লেখা this article. Anyone who knows me knows I'm not as much of an Elsa fan, unlike many others in this fandom. But a small disclaimer- I actually do like "Let it Go". It has beautiful lyrics sung দ্বারা an amazing singer, although I wasn't in favor of the message.

So I like "Let it Go", what's my problem with this song? It didn't go with the movie really and I felt like it wasn't needed. I mean, sure a lot of people loved it and it actually made the movie really popular.

But really, why is it there?

I mean, the reason why Elsa was the deuteragonist instead of the villain was because of this particular song and yet it seemed kind of thrown in there. I felt the plot wouldn't have been much different without it.

Yes, I know Elsa needed to build somewhere for her to hide, which is her ice palace, but was a song really necessary? I mean the song wasn't exactly about building ice palaces.

Okay, I'll rephrase that. It's not that this song doesn't fit into the story. I just felt it came too early.

This song was supposed to be about Elsa moving on, right? So wouldn't it make আরো sense to have her sing this song before returning to Arendelle, instead of having Hans make her return?

Sure it would change the story a little bit, but I think if they were to add "Let it Go" in there, it would require the storyline to be changed a little.

I mean, it's a good song but I could care less if it was there. I went to see ফ্রোজেন because of Olaf, not this song.

lionkingartist Good article. I agree,it was a kind of pointless song even though it's super catchy and whatnot.

blackpanther666 To be honest, I really have to disagree with you here. Firstly, I am an Elsa fan, like I am a fan of the other characters, too. But, I will make my point. I feel like the song showed us all the built up tension, sadness and frustration that Elsa had accumulated over the years from having powers and not being understood by others. It was perfectly placed in the story, because she 'let it go' and decided to leave Arendelle and stop caring about what others thought, so she could be herself, without having to be afraid of others seeing her using her powers and shunning her, or her accidentally hurting someone, like she did with Anna. No offense intended, but I think you just didn't really understand the impact that the song gave to the audience. Not everyone understood it, though some people did. Thanks for listening and I hope you don't take any offense to my point.

WinterSpirit809 ^But let's go back to a point I said- I get the point of the song it was about Elsa becoming less afraid of what others thought of her, but I felt it was placed at the wrong time. After the song, she is still afraid of what others think of her, because she doesn't go back to Arendelle. I feel if it had come later in the story, it would have made more sense, ya know?
