from my opinion, they're focusing more on the music and paying tribute and inviting special guests. they're losing grasp of the storyline. but we'll see in future episodes

i hate all the new songs.. typically after every episode i would download like all the songs but now.. i have no downloaded a glee song in weeks.. i hate all the new songs.. i want the oldies

Too many chart numbers this season, they are completely aiming it at the tween and 'gay' audiences this season, i have no problem with either but Season 1 just had more depth, better character consistency (apart from Jesse's complete change of mind), better song choices and better guest stars! It's like they dont give a shit this season!

Yup!!

Characterization of Season 1 is needed badly- especially with Finn and Quinn. They were great characters then. I would add Sam to season 1, subtract Fuinn, and that'd be prefect. Also, the storylines were better, and most of the time, they didn't go out and state "this week you will be learning about how important it is to..." except in Wheels, but it made sense. None of the Warblers or the sexuality questions followed by preachy lessons. AND The songs were better! I do not want Top 40's as much as I want to hear really great emotion-provoking songs.

There are some areas where the show improved for me, like adding a ship I really like where in the past I ranged from dislike to at best thinking a ship would be good but not something I'd care much about, and there have been one or two new characters or guest stars I like (Beiste is an improvement for example).

I do think the show really slipped in a lot of areas. Consistency went from bad to worse, their inability to write the show where plots, songs and air time are even near balanced got worse, more pointless guests, characters losing their charm, it's less funny, almost every relationship follows the same repetitive path to doom and I find less of the songs exciting (even when sang well. Glee used to often make songs their own, even if I preferred the original, but aside from some standouts, lately glee seems to less often re-interpret songs, more just cover songs). I'll be honest, if it weren't for a couple of characters and voices I'm fond of, I'd probably be skipping glee by now. The only reason I didn't pick I want s1 back is there have been a couple of good changes, and I guess what I want back isn't s1, it's the way the show was handled before they became so secure in their popularity they seemed to try less hard.

YAY FOR SEASON TWO!! ^^ I actually like season two better then season one...somehow it seems more 'colorfull' to me. This season just seems more spectacular to me. And it has klaine...XD

There've been episodes I haven't liked, but the last few episodes (other than 2x17) have been great and the upcoming ones look really exciting.

Season 1 was about the satire of high school, them exaggerating the labels of each kid and then through glee they were able to show that it wasn't all about the labels, that there was so much more depth to each character, and that this group of totally different people could actually come together to make something great, bigger than themselves, and surpass all differences.

That's what it was about, while being a comedy and a musical at the same time.

This season has been focused all on the romantic relationships, on love triangles that don't go anywhere, on character's that are stuck on their labels and DON'T GROW, characters that contradict themselves, storylines that aren't finished, lack of them growing together as a group, instead of that they are becoming more and more mean with each other. While they complain about everyone bullying them they actually bully each other, it's just contradictions everywhere... Character development is non-existent. There was barely any comedy, in fact in the first half of the season it turned into a full out drama. The first half of season 2 was a disaster, I think it started to get better during the second half, with better episodes and more entertaining. But it still has NOTHING on season 1, and I basically only watch it for the songs.
