I already mentioned once that whenever the writers go for জনপ্রিয় fairytales, they tend to include the misconceptions about the fairy tale in their adaption. Here they tried to deconstruct the সিন্ড্রেলা story. But what they ended up doing was deconstructing the ডিজনি version of the story.
Don’t get me wrong, I like the ডিজনি movie, but it is not what I would watch if I wanted to see a version true to the source, and it has আরো অথবা less buried what the original story really was about (though I don’t agree with the criticism the movie tends to get, but that’s another story). And I don’t mean just the fact that it is based on the Perrault version of the story and not on the Grimm version. There are dozens “Aschenputtle” versions all over the world and “Cinderella” is simply the Americanized French version and is so far removed from the Grimm version that it’s nearly a complete different story.
One of the main misconceptions about the tales is that the two step sisters are ugly. No, they aren’t, in the original story they are “beautiful on the outside but ugly on the inside”. The story is about “inner beauty vs. outer beauty”, and if আপনি know that a deconstruct, which is based on the idea that Cinderella’s beauty is just on the outside simply doesn’t work. But let’s নিরাপদ my opinion (rant?) for the end of this review.

German Gebrabbel
No, Monroe, “Geölter Blitz” doesn’t mean “literally bat out of hell”. Murcilago is the Spanish word for “bat” (no hell involved), but the German word for that would be “Fledermaus”. “Geölter Blitz” on the other hand means literally “oiled lightning”. It is part of a German saying, if something moves as fast as “oiled lightning”, than it is very, very fast.

And that’s it…I’m drawing a blank, there is nothing else which really spoke to me
- The guest characters are all utterly unpleasant, especially Lucinda’s baby talk is very annoying
- Doesn’t Juliette have a job? Never mind that I’m sure Nick, being a police officer, could do this kind অথবা research much easier than her.
- Speaking of interrogation rooms: Doesn’t Nick worry that someone might decide to observe him when he is in there? This is becoming ridiculous.
The Grimmoire
Well, this episode introduced Kimura as yet another suspect for the murder of Nick’s parents – the প্রশ্ন is, how many people were there in addition to the four Nick knows about?
The Final Judgment
I hate, hate, hate, hate this episode! I hate it so much it was a real chore to watch it again for this review. I don’t even know where to begin. The characters are utterly unlikable, the story is way too focused on them (it takes eight মিনিট before Nick even turns up on screen) and the whole thing has, for all the references, পরবর্তি to nothing to do with the Aschenputtle story, that’s আরো “Barbie gone bad” than anything else. It didn’t help that the telegraphed Lucinda’s true nature from the very beginning, there were no surprises in this one. The side story with Juliette is ridiculous, Monroe is barely present, and after the action packed episodes beforehand, this one feels way too much like an unnecessary filler.
There goes nothing…1 golden keys out of 10. And I really hope that I’ll never have to give this rating again.
