What was the point in making ভ্যাম্পায়ার SPARKLE? How was it related to the story?

I agree, I think the sparkling was a stupid idea. However, that isn't because "sparkles are gay" অথবা "sparkles are for wusses" অথবা "sparkles are for fairies" অথবা "vampires don't sparkle". There IS, in fact, a real reason for it, and it does pertain to what I think was SMeyer's reason for making the ভ্যাম্পায়ার sparkle.

What is the one greatest weakness of a vampire? The sun. It is one of their greatest obstacles. SMeyer, however, took this away. She is purposely giving her ভ্যাম্পায়ার no obstacles in her attempt to make them "perfect". However, any writer,and MOST people who don't write, know that characters should have obstacles. That is what makes a story interesting! What are Edward's obstacles? Oh, right, there are none. Another reason why he fails as a character. (No, trying to avoid eating Bella does not count because he doesn't have to try that hard. If he can চুম্বন her as much as he does, hang around her as much as he does, spend hours watching her sleep, then resisting her blood cannot be nearly as hard as SMeyer wishes her readers to believe it is).

I believe that when people write they have the right to tell thier story as they choose, make thier characters the way they want.
S. Meyer chose rock hard bodies for her ভ্যাম্পায়ার and in keeping with the characteristics of rock, namely marble, she twisted a legend about ভ্যাম্পায়ার and sunlight to turn it into something new and unusual.
If আপনি read as many vampire novels as I do, you'd see that it would get pretty repetetive if writers didn't add thier own edge of imagination to every legend. The sparkles just happen to be S. Meyers new look on vampires.

well, maybe Smeyer wanted to make her own ভ্যাম্পায়ার unique দ্বারা sparkling in the sun rather than the old-legends of ভ্যাম্পায়ার not being able to প্রদর্শনী themeselves when it was sunlight.
And...possibly she thought that with the help of the 'sparkly-stuff'

I'm guessing it was আরো for visual effects than anything else. Not only he is perfect and beautiful, he also sparkles! আপনি can't do better than that in the looks department! /sarcasm

Even though I am a Twilight fan, I will never be able to defend the sparkling. So, so stupid. ভ্যাম্পায়ার need weaknesses, Stephanie.

I agree, even Hank Green has stated আপনি can write a book about ভ্যাম্পায়ার but আপনি should not completely change the history and legends behind them. I honestly used to think ভ্যাম্পায়ার were almost half as cool as wizards, but thanks to Stephanie Meyer, that is no longer true.

There isn't a reason. Just like there isn't a reson why Stephenie Meyer created Edward and Bella and this story!
Look, this whole Universe came to her as a dream, and she saw Edward and Bella laying in the meadow, and he was sparkling. Don't ask me why অথবা how, but she knew he was a vampire, it was a FACT, and that she knew they were in love.
I don't think the sparkling sucks, I think it's just different, but I was never a hige অনুরাগী of ভ্যাম্পায়ার anyway (I প্রণয় Lupin!!) so it didn't bother me that they were so different from the traditional vampires. I don't understand what's the fuss about, she has all the right to create her own World, just like আপনি guys have the right not to like it.

I don't know , maybe S.Meyer thought that sparkling is hot , অথবা she wanted to use every aspect of her dream.
