They aren't so great, but they provided mild entertainment. Lots of the Antis are going to say 1, which is lame and untruthful. Sure, you hated it, but you can at least say it was a good time waster.

I gave a two because when I first watched the movie yesterday, well, the story's shallow. In any good movie that I saw, when it comes to the climax, my heart's beating fast but I didn't felt that yestarday while watching Twilight...! :D

I gave it a seven because I thoroughly enjoyed it, and I am a fan. It's not a great piece of literature, everyone knows that. It's just an interesting story that kept me reading, even though there were parts that had me falling asleep. The movies, at least Twilight since I have yet to see NM, weren't a good representation of the books.

I really loved the books, though the movies like, VampiresRevenge said, the movies did let it down just a tad. But I still really liked them too.
I am a huge fan, though the reason I didn't rate them both a 10 was because I have been able to see and read what other people have to say about it (rational debates and whatnot) and they have really opened my eyes. Nevertheless, I still love it and will continue to, but I am open-minded to everyone else's opinions and views about it.

@venvargie: If it was such a waste of time, why did you read the whole series?

I gave it a 6 because I don't think it is something very special, but I enjoyed reading the books and watching the movies. Even if I don't believe it to be of high literary or artistic value, many people enjoy it and that is after all the main reason why books are written and movies are made.

Because my friend told me it was better that Harry Potter and I wanted to see for myself. And before you say, "why didn't you stop once you realized you didn't like it?" it's because one: I was hoping Smeyer would somehow redeem herself. And two: Once I start reading a series I can't stop. Gotta finish it.

I gave it a 2 because while it has its flaws and plot holes, it still provides tip-top entertainment (especially drinking games- every time an actor in the Twilight movies look like they need to poo, my parents, grandparents, family friends, etc. yell, "CONSTIPATION" and take a shot). And am I shallow to say that Seth is totally cute? XD

And how else am I supposed to know what's going on in the world?

I'm a big Anti of the series, but I have to admit, SMeyer created SOME interesting chacters (such as Tyler's Van) but the whole story was utter crap (such as Edward watching Bella in her pyjamas, if she has some and sparkling) but sometimes I don't get why SMeyer only emphasized EDTARD'S sparkling (only Edtard's been seen/read as sparkling).

I picked 3 because of Jacob, the werewolves, Jacob/Bella, & New Moon (before Edward came back).

the stories shallow and they don't even have a good plot.
it hasn't been thoough out well and all the charcters are too peerfect. its no like that in reality, and vampires don't sparkle in the sun. to me, those charchters are not real vampires, real vampires are awesome and different.

Eh. I can't say that I despise the movies. They're bad, the acting is terrible, BUT I have to say that the trailers look pretty damn epic. :D The movie was just really dragged out and plotless. I both applaud and pity the actors of Twilight for the same reason. They had to be pretty brave to take up the role for that; even Robert Pattinson said that he didn't like Edward as a character. :P
It's definitely not the worst movie that I've seen though. Try watching an opera/drama/tragedy in a foreign langauge. (shudder.)

Twilight sucks

I put a one, because they put me to sleep when I tried reading them and I see this crap everywhere I go. And I think it sends the wrong message to young girls- the target audience.

It was just so un-realistic & fake, it ruined the concept of "vampires", & it just went on & on about Edwards gorgeous flawless & perfect figure, & the books are all the same, there is just to much repetitive drama about Bella being a slut & not being able to chose between Edward & Jacob. & at the end of all the four books, theres a little battle of some sort, which is resolved or continued. The plot was pathetic, there sort of was no plot. The romance was very very fake, & the literature was failed. Then the movie was just hilarious! I was tearing up.

I gave it a four because it wasn't terrible, and I somewhat enjoy the movies.

I would give the books a one, but it would be a good story if it had been written by a good author who knew what they were doing. It actually has a lot of potential, it's just that Smeyer wrote it completely wrong (ex: sparkling, perfection, predictability) and didn't develop it the way she could have. Therefore, the series earns itself a 2, slightly better than completely and totally awful.

Although the movies receive a 3, because even though the acting and terrible representation of the "plot" would make it a 1, Taylor Lautner's face and abs raise it 2 points :)

I'll have to give it a 5... because it's average.

I loathe the series. Pure hatred. Well, no, that was before, when it was all overrated and everyone kept going on about the series. Before it became the most overrated piece of shit that ever walked this Earth, I was heartily obsessed. That's worth half a mark. Not even. And some characters are mildly interesting or funny. For example, Jacob Black seemed reasonable until 'Breaking Dawn.' (Ew). Alice's character is sweet. Jasper's character is funny. But that's where it ends. Sure, Taylor Lautner, to some extent, is attractive. But Robert Pattinson's chatness degrades the whole series. :) Jokes. But seriously. ;) There are flaws, too many flaws; there is too much in-depth analysis of how Bella's heart beats fast whenever Edward is a billion miles within her vicinity; there are far too many synonyms for 'beautiful' that I never dreamed of existed, and ya-ya-ya. Good day.

It had the potential to be a really good plot, but Stephenie ruined it by being shallow and trying to make everything too happy. In the final fight, one person died. And it wasn't even in the fight! If there would've been at least some action, then it would've been better. Also, everything's based on beauty. The people at school are pretty, vampires are beautiful, the Quileutes have an exotic beauty... there was no one who was ugly, or even plain. They all had to look fantastic all the time.
There's also too many plot holes. I mean, Edward's DEAD. As in, NO PULSE! And if he has no pulse, how's he supposed to be able to make a baby? And what would happen if Bella were to have her period in front of the Cullens? If Jasper freaks out because of one little tiny paper cut, imagine what he'd do during a time like that.
The lines were somewhat cheesy, too. I think Stephenie took something that sounded clever at the time, but when she put it in context, it was ruined. If some guy ever said "And so the lion fell in love with the lamb", I'd probably start laughing at him. I mean, sure it's romantic, but just.. no. I couldn't take a guy seriously if he talked like that.
And Edward isn't as perfect as people make him out to be. He stalked Bella for months before he gained the courage to talk to her. I mean, he came into her room while she was sleeping! That's not normal behavior. And then when they were together he was telling her what to do and who to talk to. When they got married and finally did the deed, he bruised her entire body, but she liked it! That's kinda messed up. Going off of Bella's personality, she's very anti-feminist. Her entire life revolved around Edward and making him happy. Same with her relationsip with her dad. She cooked and she cleaned and that was it. Personally, I believe any girl who becomes catatonic because she got dumped isn't a good role model for girls. She makes it seem like you have to have a guy to be happy, but that's not true.

There was no character development and there wasn't a good message in the Twilight books

Twilight is far from being a masterpiece, but it is a decent book to read either on the beach or when you have too much to study and need an easy escape. I must say that I am fed up with twilight haters even more than with twilight die-hard-fans. I don't see a reason in admitting all the time that twilight is not "deep", there is no philosophical/historical/etc. background, the story is simple and doesn't bring a message. It is not this kind of book. It's just a nice book to read in one day when you have had enough of serious literature. :) I understand when you criticise the language or characters, which could use some improvement, but saying it is trash just because it doesn't give a socially acceptable role model doesn't make sens to me. Literature, even good :), does not exist to give examples of decency or "right" behaviour.

Twilight and I are not the best of friends.

I think it sucks, but I gave it this rating just to say this...

You know the worst movie in this world? That Twilight movie. If I could rate it on a scale from 1-10, 1 being the worst and 10 being the best? I would give it a... 8. Or an 8.5... or a 9. Not NOT over a 9.8, because there's always room for improvement. Not every movie's perfect, like Harry Potter. That's why HP is holding out for a 10. Because it's worth it.

Completely destroyed the concept of what a Vampire actually is.

I was very entertained and emotionally drawn into the story.

The overall story is overused and the book and plot isn't very well done, and the movies were ok. Didn't do the books justice (yes, I've read and watched all the movies) but there are 3 reasons why Twilght gets a 3:
1. It's entertaining to debate about
2. The "romance" USED to entertain me (that's right, I used to be a fan & Twilight gets a point for sucking me of all people in)
3. I got to meet some pretty cool people on this spot (which wouldn't exist without Twilight)
