Got a প্রশ্ন about something Hermione says in DH.

I knew the প্রশ্ন would be about this! My best guess would be that she didn't technically Obliviate her parents; she just changed their memories. So she had never actually performed a full-out memory wipe.

She probably didn't want them to know that she wiped her parent's memories,because she might think that would shock them.

She means she's never used the memory charm, "Obliviate". She must have used a different spell for not completely changing her parents memories.

JK Rowling has explained this in an interview. They are 2 different spells. Obliviate is a memory erasing spell, it leaves blanks in a person's memory, and this is the one Hermione used for the first time on the Death Eaters. There's an unnamed spell which removes memories and adds new replacement ones, which is what she used on her parents. The film had it wrong when they put in that scene.
