It's ok...well, the way I see it, James could have won Lily because of his personality and his charm and everything, but if Snape hadn't been so harsh on her on some thing she mabye would have been more fond to Snape than to James...
I ment to aks wether you think James did more to win her that what I think Snape did to push her away

I think Snape lost Lily.
They were best friends (as Ron&Hermione) but Snape betrayed Lily calling her mudblood and Lily never forgave him for those awful words..

I don't think Snape ever had her to begin with.

I like your point of view, vann! It's really very interesting. I believe that James definitely won her. Because I'm sure that Lily really loved James. Snape was a friend of hers. But IMO even if Snape didn't spoil it all, Lily would never fall in love with him.

I agree with becca85, Snape never had her to begin with! Lily wasn't interested in him romantically to begin with, and as for James he worked his butt off to get a date with Lily! And honestly if he hadn't been worth it, Lily would have never stayed with him, let alone marry him!

I agree with othobsessed92 and becca. Lily was never Snape's to lose. He was in love with her, but she only thought of him as a friend.

I think James and Lily were happy together, so I guess James won her. I really don´t think Snape and Lily could be a couple.

I think that Lilly may have returned Snape's feelings if it werent for him being interested in the dark arts, pure blood views and hanging round the wrong crowd, calling Lilly a mudblood all caused the catalyst for that friendship ending and the door opening for Lilly and James so i think both contributed to it.

I think there would not have been a James & Lily, if Snape had not lost her!

yeah, she was going towards james, but then they had that fight that it shows in the seventh book and then i think he lost her after that.

I think Snape lost her. Because Lily ended there friend/relationship (even it never really was a relationship, snape loved her and she propably had a lot of feelings for him too) already in their 5th year of hogwarts, but she's comming together with james in the 7th!!! (maybe she already had feelings for him, when she ended her what-ever with snape, but Severus made a big mistake! Maybe if he didn't have called her a mud-blood she would have lost her crush on james.)

Snape lost her, as a friend. I freaking HATE James Potter, with every cell in my body. Stupid idiot. Severus loved her MUCH more than James. It's bittersweet, poor Snape.

According to Rowling, Snape lost her. She said in one of her earlier interviews that Lily would have eventually fallen in love with him.

James didn't 'win' her, as she isn't an object to be won. I guess you could say Snape lost her companionship after Lily and James got together.

Snape lost her friendship by calling her a mudblood, and because of his interest in the Dark Arts and friendship with budding Death Eaters. If they'd still been friends, she could have not been interested in James out of loyalty for Snape.
