I don't think she's too "old" i just don't think the actress was right for the part.
AND I don't think the character is portrayed as she should be. While she does save Harry's life and loves her son a LOT, she is still a very cold and cruel-like character and they make her out to be kinda weak in the movies and i dont agree with this :/

Couldn't think of someone else other than helen,especially in DH i like her so much<3 And i also like the hair and hairstyle(in DH only),i like how this represents both the Blacks and the Malfoys!!!In general i think she was good in both movies,but in HBP she looked too old,although that changed in DH!!!

They could have given her normal blond hair and blue contacts and high heals and a corset. And like that it'd be fine... Yeah, I'm sorry, I'll never be quite pleased with this casting.

Helen McCrory was all right, but I think the makeup artist/costume designer screwed up.
I HATED her hair and makeup.
It's like they wanted her to not be pretty, but hired a beautiful actress and then made her look ugly.

She looks fine, not too old and not too young, and her perfoamce was good too

Helen is perfect and a terribly good actress. Too old, HA!

I don't get why people don't like the casting of her, I think Helen is great as Narcissa .

Not because she's "too old" - I just don't like her for Narcissa.
