He wasn't always a bully!!! He was mean to snape, but he grew up and got married to Lily and had HARRY POTTER. He turned out to be a great man, snape just never got over who he used to be.

I think he was a stupid, arrogant bully IN HIS YOUTH, I don't believe that he stayed that way, not with Lily by his side, but I still don't like him
and I think that it's not fair saying that James was funny AND criticizing Severus for his sarcasm at the same time, I personally LOVE Severus's sarcasm and think it's quite funny =)

Oh come on. I am appalled with what these results show. We all know he grew out of it. Snape got obsessed with the Dark Arts and joined the Death Eaters. Then Voldy went after Lily and he finally redeemed himself. James was a bully, grew out of it to win over Lily, and then died trying to protect his family. How is that so different from Snape?

He made up for what he did to Snape later in life. He matured as he became a husband and father. He changed himself for Lily, because he finally realized what he was doing was wrong. He was a brilliant father, he gave his life to protect his son. Why are these things so often overlooked? James was not a horrible person.

I think it's silly to think he was forever a bully. If he were that horrible Lily never would have married him and had Harry. Of course you can suspect any of the marauders would still have their trouble-making side when they had wives and kids of their own. But it just adds onto the fun. :) James changed and he was a caring man.

Hate him, hate him, hate him! He changed just about professor snape's whole life. Without him maybe severus wouldnt have turned into a deatheater, without him Lily wouldnt have broken severus' heart, without him many students wouldnt have been bullied. I wish he never existed. His love for lily would never match half of severus'
