Ivan Barginsky walked silently, at an even pace.
There were dozens and dozens of voices ringing in his head, voices that just wouldn't go away. Some voices were sad, some were angry, and some didn't even make sense. They were just yells and screams.
Czar Nicholas...Bolsheviks...Revolution.
His head was pounding. Sometimes, the pain would be too much and he'd sink to the ground.
But then again, who would care?
Nobody cared about old Russia.
Before World War 1 started, and the world became divided, Russia was the village idiot.
"Look at this--a rifle!" France exclaimed, প্রদর্শিত হচ্ছে off his new weapons.
It was after the Industrial Revoltuion, and everyone in the world was like little boys on বড়দিন day, opening their new presents and প্রদর্শিত হচ্ছে them off.
"Quit your bragging, frog. Don't forget, আপনি have me to thank for your new toys." England sneered, although he too was প্রদর্শিত হচ্ছে off the new innovations--steel, railroads, factories, everyone had them.
Except for Russia.
He didn't mind, really. Having weapons wasn't everything. Ivan knew that Russia was better off without all the fancy new things everyone else had.
Well, he was wrong.
Enter Japan, a just-starting nation. He had wanted Korea, which happened to be one of the colonies Russia was after. They fought. Russia was sure he'd win--he ws bigger and stronger.
He thought he was bigger and stronger.
He was bigger. Not stronger.
জাপান had won.
The Russians were mortified. They had the bigger army and country. Korea would have been as good as theirs.
But they didn't have those weapons, all though new toys everyone was প্রদর্শিত হচ্ছে off.
Russia, and the repuation of Russia, crumbled.
Wimp! Wimp! Wimp! Wimp!
Some of the smaller countries-even some mini-states-, who had been scared of Russia, saw the জাপান had beat him, and conquered their fear of the gentle giant. They mocked him any chance they got. Every time জাপান would come by, they'd tease Russia, hoping he'd cower in fear of the island-like nation.
Nobody helped him. Then again, who would?
Nobody cared about weak Russia.
And when World War 1 came...things got worse.
The weapons were outdated. The armies were fleeing, the citizens were rioting, and Russia was crumbling, again.
The country, although he tried, still didn't have the technology his allies did.
Even the czar couldn't convince the army.
Everyone of Russia wanted out of the war.
It hurt. It hurt so much.
So many people were depending on him, Ivan, Russia to defend their country with honor and pride.
But he fled instead. And nobody cared.
Nobody cared about out of তারিখ Russia.
At first, Ivan didn't notice the tears. But when he did, he crumbled as he did back then, sinking to a puddle in the ground, quietly sobbing.
Why him? Why Russia?
And why couldn't anyone help him?
Because nobody cared.
Nobody cared after the war with Japan, nobody cared during the Industrial Age..
Nobody cared then and they didn't care now.
But who the hell would care?
Nobody.
Nobody cared about old, weak, out of তারিখ Russia.
