I like Michael Gambon, but he seemed to play Dumbledore way to eccentric.

By far. I wasnt actually that upset when Dumbledore died in the 7th movie (I was only upset for the other characters who were upset..) but I'm not gonna miss him. He's a good actor but he's not for Dumbledore. The guy in Lord of the Rings (Gandalf) looks more like Dumbledore than the actual Dumbledore.. which is quite sad.

Micheal Gambon is . . . weird as Dumbledore. He's got the cooky, eccentric parts of Dumbledore, but he doesn't have that wise old-man, fatherly figure that Richard Harris and the book Dumbledore have.

I didn't mind him too much in PoA, but in GoF, when he practically attacked Harry, is when I turned away. I mean, i know it was the director's decision, but I can't picture Richard Harris doing that :/

No way, Richard Harris as Dumbledore seemed to move so slow and talk even slower.

Michael Gambon gives Dumbledore that energy that we all know Dumbledore has.

I'm somewhat conflicted here despite my pick, because Richard Harris did a good job playing Dumbledore. He played the beloved professor calm and cool and collected, and those are all characteristics we know Dumbledore should have. But Michael Gambon gives Dumbledore this energy and resonance I think really shows how powerful and confident Dumbledore really was. And plus, Gambon has this amazing comedic timing about him, and even though Richard Harris was a little fun a few times in the first two movies, Gambon allowed his portrayal of Dumbledore to be unique to what we'd already seen. He was funny sometimes without really doing it on purpose. I love them both, but I think Gambon gives Dumbledore much more of a rare quirkiness that very few actors could have done.

Richard Harris could make something very touching.

Michael Gambon has too much energy in him! He could never be as loving as Richard Harris!

Richard Harris was a great actor yet he looked too frail in my opinion. I would not have seen him in the fight against Voldemort at the MoM.

Michael Gambon captured the eccentricity, charisma and energy of Dumbledore. He's the boss, the man in charge, the leader. As the series moved on, he also showed how serious the task at hand is for him and Harry, especially in HBP.
