Also the writers drawing it out because if Huddy does happen it might change the nature of the show. I think any relationship for House is a step into deep and murky waters, its got to be a little scary!
Plus any sensible woman who is looking for more than casual sex should fear House!

I think his misanthropy and belief in conditional relationships means that he is afraid of being in an intimate relationship. So, Stacy leaving him was proof (to him) that all relationships are conditional and I think he doesn't want to open himself up again (like Wilson once said), because that means that there is the possibility of rejection (like Stacy's rejection, and to a certain extent his father's rejection), and letting go of rationality and logic and concrete scientific facts (which he can, for the most part, rely on).

GOOD LORD! I'm sorry. I didn't mean for that to turn into a psychology textbook!

I enjoy House's snarky comments about Cuddy's looks, and funny moments like "YOU CAN'T STOP OUR LOVE!" but I don't think that there's any romantic attraction or potential between them.

I don't agree!
House was obviously jealous when Cuddy dated a man in Valentine's Day!And when he thought that sth was going on between her and Wilson!
furthermore there is a lot of sexual tension between them!
