No, there's no way that the wedgie bounce machine was real. It would be almost impossible to have a machine like that which would give a person an actual wedgie without causing serious injury and creating a huge liability problem for the producers of the show. However, he definitely did have to wear a pair of tighty whities that they really did stick a hook through.
