Why does Mr.Rochester still flirt অথবা evn bother spending time with Ms.Blanche Ingrim if he is in প্রণয় With Jayne ?

Rochester actually explains why he pretends to be marrying Blanche Ingram - to wind Jane up and to make her fall "as madly in প্রণয় with me as I was with you" as he says in Chapter 24 of the book.
Sorry about the quotation answer, but I'm studying Jane Eyre at the moment, so it's sort of সেকেন্ড nature to me!

Rochester loves Jane. He doesn't care at all about Miss Ingram. Mr. Rochester appears to court her in order to make Jane jealous. In the meantime, he's trying to find out if Jane really loves him (the gypsy woman). But I think he's also afraid of what will happen then : he doesn't forget he's married and that Jane would never accept this relationship if she knew... I think he's trying to resist his প্রণয় for Jane (because of his past), but when she proclaims her প্রণয় for him, he proposes to her (with a "god forgive me")...

according to Mr.Rochester he did that to make her jealous, and to make her as much in প্রণয় with him as he was to her... but sometimes i feel that he was lying! i feel like he wanted to marry her for her postion maybe... অথবা for her money অথবা her beauty... any way i believe he only married her to get some thing useful but not for love

Mr Rochester's character is a man of many hidden depths, he comes across as a man who is serious,unperdictable, aloof and far from passionate, and being a man of the world he is fully aware of Jane's attraction towards him and enjoys playing little mind games with her. His flirtations with Blanche Ingram is his way of seeing how Jane would react and as the story progresses we realise that mr Rochester is equally in প্রণয় with Jane.
