I remember visiting this website once...
It was called Jim Carey on Late Girlfriend's Mom's 'Shakedown Lawsuit'
Here's some stuff I remembered seeing:
Jim Carrey responded forcefully to a lawsuit filed against him by his late girlfriend Cathriona White‘s mother in a case that has led to a volley of ugly accusations.
On Tuesday, Carrey’s legal team filed court paperwork obtained by PEOPLE, in which the actor dismisses White’s mother’s wrongful death lawsuit against him as a ‘shakedown.’
Her mother, Brigid Sweetman, is seeking damages from Carrey in a wrongful death and violation of the drug dealer liability act lawsuit, according to court documents previously obtained by PEOPLE. White’s estranged husband Mark Burton also sued the actor last month. Both Burton and Sweetman are being represented by the same lawyer, Michael Avenatti.
In today’s court documents, Carrey claims the allegations are “based on categorical lies concocted by Sweetman in collaboration with White’s ‘green card’ husband with whom White never lived as husband and wife, and whom she married only to avoid deportation to Ireland.”
Sweetman’s lawyer responded to the filing in a statement: “Earlier today, Jim Carrey filed a baseless motion with the court as part of his continued attack on a grieving mother. His conduct is disgusting and dishonest. Who attacks a mother of a dead girl?”
Sweetman and Burton separately claim that Carrey obtained the drugs that killed White under the false name “Arthur King” and provided them to her, despite knowing she was prone to depression and had previously attempted suicide. Futhermore, Sweetman alleges that Carrey gave White “three STDs without warning her.”
In the newly filed court documents, Carrey’s legal team states, “There is absolutely no evidence that Carrey furnished his prescription medications to White. Rather, she stole them.” Therefore, the documents claim, Carrey “simply cannot be held liable” for White’s suicide.

As for the STD claims, the documents state that “Carrey categorically denies the allegation” and that “Sweetman and her attorney released the embarrassing information about White solely in an attempt to gain leverage against Carrey.” The documents also point out that White sought to rekindle her romance with Carrey in 2014, long after the “purported accusations” of STDs, and that she apologized for making the accusations in the first place.
In his statement Tuesday, Sweetman’s lawyer claims, “Carrey and his ‘fixer’ lawyers are trying to deceive the media and the public. They are making up facts they know to be untrue in an effort to save Carrey’s career, which was over when he lied about not having STDs.”
Carrey also attacked Sweetman’s credibility, claiming that she “abandoned her family during White’s childhood” and was “long estranged” from her daughter at the time of her death. Meanwhile, Carrey says he and White were “a loving couple up to the day of her death.” He also reveals that they “had been finalizing a cohabitation agreement shortly before her death with the intent of living together as a couple permanently.”
The documents also claim that Sweetman asked Carrey to buy her a house in 2015 “and when he declined she became angry and bitter.”
“Carrey is a fraud and when he is forced to testify under oath, the ugly truth will be laid bare,” Avenatti said in his statement today. “We are confident that the court will see through the nonsense Carrey is peddling.”
Ultimately, Carrey’s filing states that while the actor is “devastated by White’s death,” he is “not responsible for it.” He goes on to say “it is outrageous that Sweetman, long estranged and motived by greed, now seeks blood money.”
