I think এল-মৃত্যু পত্র would see someone like him as a threat rather than a potential friend. Light was like him in that he was smart and good at tennis, but they ended up আরো rivals than friends. (Although that was আরো Light's fault than L's.)

i agree i think he would want sum1 who is smart but exactly like him? no. sum1 slightly a complete opposite ...like me ^.^
