I finally managed to read The Silmarillion last month and I thoroughly enjoyed it, but Return of the King was my favorite with Silmarillion as a close runner-up.

Though I like to think of LOTR as one big book, as Tolkien intended it. I really don't know which is better....I chose FOTR just because I've read it one more time than the other two.

Two Towers had gollum so yes it is the best

Well I've only read LOTR and The Hobbit but I'm planning to read The Silmarillion and I want to read the Unfinished Tales and... I don't know what the Children of Hurin is.

But anyways, I love them all but ROTK is just an amazing book.

The simarillion won over LOTR??!!!

But unfinished tales is great too.
