I'm a bit confused (not that that's odd for Lost...).

When someone dies and they are "claimed", what exactly does that mean? Are they an entirely different person?
Richard told Kate and Sawyer that young Ben would "never be the same" when they took him to the Temple.

But then how do they have memories? If they're completly new people, how does Claire remember Aaron? But how does she not remember leaving him in the jungle?

But Sayid is the most confusing! Is he a good guy or bad guy? Different or the same?

Who knows...
