I think the drama was the best thing about the show. I mean Season 1 is like that, but next seasons are more and more sci-fi. Still, it's a great show. And those elements don't really bother me.

The drama and characters was the best thing about the show, but it all was enhanced by the sci-fi aspects. When you have 'the world is gonna end if we don't do this' moments, it takes everything up to such a more epic scale.

Don't forget that the fantasy and scifi elements were a driving force for the drama.

Minus that it would have just been people on an island hanging out while kate slept with everyone. We had to put up with enough of that shit even WITH the scifi elements.

Minus the sci fi stuff there's no Ben, Faraday, Desmond, Smokey, etc.

I'm a sucker for anything Sci-Fi/fantasy, so I loved the direction the show has taken. Anyway, all those mysterious events happening on the island wouldn't have found a better explanation with just pure (and rational) drama.
