My parents are total music junkies and introduced me to amazing bands like Nirvana from a really young age. I love them for that xD.

Maybe a little. I think my whole family inspired me NOT to listen to popular radio crap.

Absolutely. I still listen to music my parents played for me on vinyl when I was little kid. The Beatles, CCR, Johnny Cash etc. And they never criticized my music when I was a teenager, even though I know it wasn't all to their taste. And there's a few artists that I've introduced them to that they came to love. Just the fact that music was always playing in my family home influenced me to grow up loving music.
It's funny, I just wrote an article kind of about this. XD

NO! My family likes rock music, I HATE IT! My favourite type of music is RnB and Pop, K-Pop and all that, oh and I like Classical. My mum likes some RnB and Pop too but the majority of my family like Rock Music. I'm the only one in the family who can't stand it!

Maybe a little bit. My parents hate me listening to "metal-core" so screw them about that. But inside it all they introduced me to Michael Jackson, The Beatles, Bon Jovi, My pop used to LOVE the Guns N' Roses and i intend to carry on liking the classic bands and singers gene. Sometimes it is band for yuor parents to interfere and tell you that you can't like something. It's your choice.

My mom introduced me to most of the songs i listen too

They used to, at least. My parents kind of tried to get me to dislike rock and such because they said it was all a bunch of screaming garbage and violence, and that classica lmusic is boring. Over time, I tried listening to a few rock songs with the help of friends and I realized they were right about a few things, but the majority is alright. Then I joined orchestra (which caused some upsets)

The reasoning behind this is still a mystery to me

But because of all that, I learned to appreciate all the music so many other people seem to hate so much.

This wasn't their intention, but I learned from them to take your time to actually listen to something (anything) before you decide if you like it or not.

Whether you want to admit it or not, your parents influence you in music in one way or another. By hearing what your parents listen to you know what you either will or won't like. I will admit I hated most of the music my mom liked. My dad's taste wasn't too bad, though he was into a lot of jazz and blues stuff, which aren't really my thing. Like fanfly I grew up with music playing in the house all the time. I feel so fortunate to have had that as a kid.

my parents did quite a bit as i do listen to a lot of the music they listen to. but i do also listen to a lot of music my parents hate. so they have a bit, but not completly

My parents opened me up to several types of music. I was a total rock freak in the beginning- slowly, they introduced me to the Beatles, Micheal Jackson, Elton John, Bob Marley- all those legendary people, and I'm proud to say that my music view is far more broader than it was. :)

I grew up with the classics. My dad is a big Clapton freak and would play all that oldies music around the house. I'm not a huge Clapton fanatic myself, but I do share a love of classic rock with him.

Yep. My dad is the one who is the reason that I love country today. :) I started listening to it when I was 5 years old.
