I also don't understand why they have a reason to get rid of her. She is extremely popular, I mean, these moms already won the battle of changing her eyes and name, I wouldn't understand why they would want her out of the series completely, there is no point.
I don't think she will be gone, in Magical Mystery Cure, she made an appearance with her derp eyes. She also appeared in Equestria Girls. I'm sure she will still make subtle appearances.))
