I think he shouldn't have.... I mean, Miharu made a promise to erase Yoite, and if he broke that promise, then Yoite would have been hurt... So I'm glad Miharu made the decision to not reverse the effects of the Kira technique. Even though the ending was terribly sad, I'm even happier that it wasn't a happy ending like most shows...

Yeah, maybe, but he wanted to respect the promise he made to Yoite that he would erase him, and Yoite was grateful to him for it.
