​The tabloids have a habit of kicking a fan when they\'re down, so although you might still be struggling emotionally with the news that Dougie Poynter and Ellie Goulding are \'on a break\', they\'re showing no mercy and hitting you right in the goolies with some ridiculous Niall Horan rumours too. SIGH.

Let\'s be honest, it was only a matter of time until pesky gossip mags blamed that dastardly, villainous Nialler for the split, and whaddya know – here\'s some 99.9% certainly rubbish rumours saying that Niall\'s now trying to woo newly single Ellie.

Pretty much every celeb magazine has this week decided to stick poor innocent Nialler in the drama of Ellie and Dougie\'s reported split because y\'know, he couldn\'t possibly just be friends with a female human. He simply MUST be destroying her relationship too, obvs.

We reckon the glasses are to blame, they make him look too bloody suave for his own good.

Sources at Now mag reckon that Niall and Ellie will be spending New Year together now (do you wanna tell \'em he\'s got a performance scheduled, or shall we?), and of course he\'s also planning to seduce her while he\'s at it. Yep, Niall\'s deffo the seducing type.

Funnily enough, the source also conveniently thinks we won\'t actually see any evidence of said Crimbo dinner at the Horan house. "I don\'t think they\'ll go public for a while – they want to take baby steps.

"They\'re friends, but the fact she\'s planning New Year with him says a lot."

This is all particularly awkward when you remember that the same gossipy insiders are also trying to tell us that there\'s something going on between Niall and Selena Gomez at the moment. Make up your MINDS, jeez.
