Silence 06.15.15

Note: This installment contains hurt/comfort Skilene. Ironically, since the first Skilene installment, every fourth one has contained it. That was not intentional.

— § —

“No . . . No, stop . . .”

“Marlene.”

“Stop! Let me go!”

“Marlene!”

“You’re hurting me!”

Marlene!”

“Ah!”

Marlene sprung awake in her বিছানা in a cold sweat. Skipper was above her, gripping her arms.

“Marlene, it’s all right,” he ব্যক্ত comfortingly. “It was just a nightmare.”

Marlene looked at Skipper as if ensuring she was actually awake. Then she wrapped her arms around his neck, digging her claws into him as if he might leave.

“Skipper! I’m sorry I woke আপনি up!” she cried. “It was so real!”

Skipper stroked her back, ignoring the sting from her claws. “It’s all right, Marlene. I was already awake, anyway. This storm’s keeping everyone up. The boys and I were checking on everyone when I found you,” he explained.

As if on cue, a round of thunder resounded overhead.

Marlene finally started to calm herself down and she released Skipper, pushing herself to the edge of the বিছানা to sit. Skipper sat পরবর্তি to her.

“You wanna talk about it?” Skipper asked after a few মিনিট had passed and Marlene’s হৃদয় rate had returned to normal.

Marlene winced. “Not really,” she ব্যক্ত quietly.

Skipper studied her. “I’m not gonna make আপনি talk, but I hope আপনি know আপনি can always confide in me,” he told her. আরো thunder cracked overhead.

Marlene reluctantly looked at him. “I know. I appreciate it.”

Skipper held eye contact for a moment, and then he nodded slowly. “Some of the other জন্তু জানোয়ার took refuge in the Zoovenir Shop. আপনি can too, if আপনি want,” he said.

Marlene nodded, but she didn’t respond verbally. Skipper decided she wanted to be alone and stood, but stopped at the sound of her voice.

“Wait,” she said. Skipper stopped and looked back at her. “Could you—stay? For just a minute?” she requested.

Skipper sat down again.

“I just—ever since I met her, I’ve been having nightmares about her,” Marlene said, looking down into her paws.

Skipper’s brow lowered. “Her?” he inquired.

“My feral side,” Marlene clarified.

Skipper nodded in understanding, but then became confused again. “But I thought আপনি ব্যক্ত meeting her made আপনি feel better since আপনি were able to control it,” he said.

“I did—at first,” Marlene replied. “But then I got to thinking. She was . . . insane. No one ever told me the whole story of what she did those few times I went outside the zoo.” She looked at Skipper like she was expecting him to tell her now.

“Well,” Skipper ব্যক্ত with a sigh, “she sure put up a fight, but there’s honestly not much left to tell. No one was seriously injured.”

Marlene hugged her knees to her chest. “But she’s nothing like me. How could I turn into something like that, something so—violent?”

Skipper shrugged. “Everyone has a side to themselves they never knew they had,” he said.

Marlene looked at him. “Really? Even you?” she challenged.

Skipper nodded slowly. “Affirmative.”

“What is it?” Marlene asked.

Skipper shifted uncomfortably. “That’s, uh, classified,” he ব্যক্ত without meeting her eye.

Marlene looked down. A moment passed before she said, “What if she comes back?”

Skipper looked at her. “I doubt she will. আপনি faced her. আপনি know how to control her.”

“You sound so sure about that,” she ব্যক্ত shaking her head.

“Because I am,” Skipper replied. “You have nothing to be afraid of, Marlene.”

As if to mock that statement, a loud bang! of thunder broke the sound barrier, causing the two to jump. Marlene gripped Skipper’s flipper. As their হৃদয় rates calmed, Skipper pulled his flipper free and wrapped it around her protectively, looking up at the ceiling as if the storm were about to crash through it.

“How about I take আপনি to the park tomorrow? অথবা when it stops raining,” Skipper offered. “I’ll prove to আপনি that she’s gone for good.”

Marlene swallowed. “I don’t know . . .”

“Marlene,” Skipper ব্যক্ত tipping her chin, “I’ll be with আপনি the whole time. At the first sign of her return, I’ll rush আপনি back to the zoo,” he promised.

“What if you’re too late?” Marlene asked.

Skipper smiled reassuringly. “Me, late? It’s like আপনি don’t know me at all, Dollface.”

Marlene smiled and rolled her eyes. “Fine. I guess we’ll give it a shot,” she agreed.

Skipper nudged her. “There’s the Marlene I know,” he ব্যক্ত proudly.

Marlene laughed. “Am I always scared out of my mind?”

Skipper shook his head. “Everyone’s scared of something. It’s অভিনয় in spite of that fear that makes আপনি brave,” he told her.

Marlene smiled gratefully, but then she frowned. “Is that what আপনি do?” she asked.

Skipper’s smile faded and he looked at the floor. “Yeah,” he ব্যক্ত softly.

“But . . . what are you afraid of?” Marlene asked with surprise.

Skipper made that face again, as he had earlier when she’d asked about his “other side.” He refused eye contact. “Also classified.”

Marlene thought for a moment, and then she tried to meet his eye. “I’m not gonna make আপনি talk, but I hope আপনি know আপনি can always confide in me,” she ব্যক্ত with a small smile.

Skipper looked down at her and smiled back. “I know,” he said.

Marlene sighed. “Still not gonna tell me?” she asked doubtfully.

Skipper looked away again and took a breath. “What am I afraid of? I’m afraid of losing the people I care about. I’m afraid that one দিন there’s gonna be nothing I can do to prevent something bad from happening. I’m afraid of—of—” They finished together— “losing control.”

They looked at each other as silence passed between them. A sense of understanding passed between them as the storm continued to rage outside. Despite the pitter-pattering of rain, all they could hear was the sound of their own breathing and heartbeats. There was another crack! of thunder and they were snapped out of their trance.

“Heh,” Marlene ব্যক্ত looking up, “maybe we should go to the Zoovenir ভান্দার now.”

Skipper nodded. “Right. Let’s go.”

Note: I didn’t realize this until I was just about finished with it, but this kind of seemed like a retelling of Dream (installment six). I debated just completely omitting অথবা rewriting it, but I just really liked how it turned out. I promise I’ll avoid doing that with any other installments, however.
I had SOO much fun লেখা this chapter! I hope আপনি have just as much fun পাঠ করা it! মতামত please!!!!

"Ugh," Kowalski instictively stretched out, before realizing he was no longer in a crate. He lay on a cold powdery substance. Snow? Kowalski put some in his mouth, then spit it out. It was Fake.

Standing up, he brushed of the flakes and looked around.
There was fake ice and snow covering the landscape,
with stone slabs set out in an area of salt water. If the snow wasn't real then...was this a habitat? Kowalski searched the perimeter for his mate,...

OPERATION: প্রথমপাতা SWEET HOME
CHAPTER FOUR
~ Whatever It Takes ~

The পরবর্তি morning, before the zoo opened for business, Skipper, the other penguins, and Marlene gathered at Alice’s office to look at the newest edition of The New York Times, which Alice always had a copy of on শীর্ষ of her desk. Since both the Central Park Zoo and the New York Times Building were located in Manhattan, Skipper figured that the envelope he and Kowalski had mailed out the morning before would have reached the newspaper that same day, thus in time for its contents to be published in that morning’s edition.

“Let’s...

RATED PG-13.
Genre: mystery, suspense, romance, mild action
TDL's Note: I'm লেখা a new story. This one is rather dark. The first part is very short; it is only the prologue.

The air was filled with the scent of wet concrete. The moon shown down on the lifeless zoo, the only উৎস of light. Puddles covered the ground from the storm that passed through the city hours ago. An eerie silence swept over the exhibits.

Through the silence, faint footsteps moving from puddle to puddle were heard, getting louder and louder. He came from the shadows and out into the moonlight, and took a breath of...

Just a little drabble I wrote up, my theories as to why Blowhole is crazy and wants to flood the world and hates Skipper. This will probably be COMPLETELY different from what actually happened, but oh well. Just something to tide us all over until Febuary 15th.

Title sucks, I know, but it's the best I could come up with. :-/

I might write another story soon, too. If I haev the time. I wanna write a Skipper/Marlene/Blowhole story. Insane, I know. :P

And I believe I've officially become Blowhole's number-one fan. On this website, at least. ^^;

Oh, and the bit where he's beached and a যেভাবে খুশী guy puts...

Everyone landed in different places around the rainforest.

Marlene and Icicle stood-up and began to খুঁজুন for everyone else.

"Uggh! What's up with Skipper?" asked Marlene, "He keeps messing with me and thinks that he can boss me around! What's wrong with him?"

"Uhh, girl." Icicle ব্যক্ত while fighting through the leaves, "Don't আপনি think that Skipper does that to protect you?"

"Well, sometimes. But still...Yea, whatever." Marlene jumped over the root blocking her way. "Why can't he see that I can take care of myself? I don't want him to think of me as a weak, damsel in distress. I want to be more."...

Chapter Two

“Rico. Rico. Rico, wake up.” Rico heard his name being called repeatedly and fluttered his eyes open. The voice was so rich and sweet, he hoped it was who he thought it was.

“Marlene???” Rico whispered. His eyes were blurry and then they got into focus, making the shape of an angry পেংগুইন and a slightly younger one to his side.

“RICO! Where are my magazines?” Skipper demanded. He didn’t hear Rico say Marlene at first.

“Marlene.” Rico sat up and wiped his eyes with his flippers. He looked around and found his doll. Her arm had came off when he had thrown her aside...

“I wonder what’s taking him so long,” Marlene mumbled to herself. She was sprawled out across her bed, staring up at the ceiling of her habitat, thinking about Skipper. She checked the clock, “it’s been almost an hour. I hope his team took it well.”

Marlene began to get anxious, not because she wanted to know what the other penguins thought of their relationship, but because she wanted to see Skipper again. Ever since the first time she laid eyes on the strapping পেংগুইন she knew that there was something about him that attracted her to him. It could have been his sleek black and...

Note To Self,

It’s been nearly a month. I’m not sure what happened, but Skipper is in the worst shape of his life. Private and I have both made various attempts to talk to him, but he refuses to say a word. On another note, he won’t eat his fish, anymore. Private tells me that he somehow feels responsible. I somehow doubt it. But, with the way things are looking, who knows what’s wrong with Skipper? I only wish that he would tell me something. It wouldn’t even have to be about this situation. I simply need to know if he’s still sane.

Besides, he’s starting to frighten Private....

“What’s going on, Skippa?” Private appeared from behind the conversing crowd that had gathered near the fishbowl ladder. This cluster of জন্তু জানোয়ার now included the four penguins and Marlene, who appeared to have brought along some important news.

“We’ve received word that Alice and her coworkers are planning some sort of diabolical meeting at the Zoovenir.” Kowalski answered, instead. Marlene was quick to intervene, though.

“Whoa, whoa, whoa! I did not say anything about it being diabolical!” the ভোঁদড় claimed with her hands of her hips. She had only been there for probably 8 minutes...

Two Spiteful Uncles Thinking to the Beat
A Short Story

Dave the Octopus looked at the giant map in his hands and felt happy.

He walked over to the window and reflected on his tense surroundings. He had always loved cold a submarine with its muddy, miniature metal walls. It was a place that encouraged his tendency to feel happy.

Then he saw something in the distance,...

Note: Well, anyone who knows me had to know I was going to do a Skilene one eventually. Happy Valentine’s!

— § —

Unable to sleep, Skipper pulled himself topside for some fresh air. He had that nightmare again, the same one he’d been having every night for a week. He hadn’t told anyone about it yet—partly because it was really disturbing him, and partly because he didn’t want anybody worrying about him.

He ran his flippers over his face and knelt দ্বারা the pool to look at his reflection. He could tell that he was tired with the circles around his eyes. The team had seemed...
