Though alot of people confuse Red and Ash to be the same person, they are actually not. One huge factor is that Red is from the manga comics and Ash is from the anime t.v series. Red is more of a serious trainer than Ash, Red single handely beat team rocket while Ash never dealt with team rocket personally. (besides Jessie and James) Red beat the pokemon leauge on his first try while ash always seems to always fail, but what they do have in common with each other is that they're both from pallet town, good friends with Gym leader Misty, and ALMOST have the same pokemon team.
