Parents could be ONE of the causes, or not at all. It's different in each case.

My aunt is really mean to my cousin, she is always telling her "you're fat" "your sister is way prettier than you" "your cousin is so thin, why are you so fat?" "Stop eating! You eat all the time, that's why you are so fat and ugly" "If you don't lose weight you'll never have a boyfriend"...

OMG...really that's not nice...and it can really hurt and offend u're cousin ...I think comparing who's better,prittier or whatever is just wrong...that's really inmature of u're aunt no offense...thank u so much for shearing that =) ...have u ever talked to her,and maybe say that what she's doin is wrong or that she should stop...;)

I found that peer pressure from other girls or bots are. I know a girl, who is in my advisory, and she's an aspiring cheerleader. She, at the beginning of the year got salads everyday. The other girls of my advisory told her that she was fat (which she's not) and now all she has for lunch is a piece of bread... Makes me sad :(

omg seriously?...it is sad...I hate when people tell u how u look...sometimes they don't even realise that it can actually really affect a person...why doesn't someone tell her that she should eat more?

well, theyre usually the one that buys the food, so i think thats them thats doing it to kids. :D and, usually , im not good at this kinda stuff... XD
