Why did Abraham (Selena's father) hate Chris?

It doesn't seem that Abraham actually hated Chris. It does seem however, that he may have disapproved of his background.

Honestly, I'm not quite sure. I think it may have been because he wasn't ready for Selena to grow up and become distracted from other things than her career. I'm not sure though.

I don't think Selena's dad actually hated Chris. Abraham thought that Chris was not good enough for Selena. He also thought Chris was just after her for her money and because Selena was so beautiful. Selena's dad was a very domainary person. He always thought he knew what was best for Selena.

Well, i think he wasn't ready for his little girl to be with a guy. And to make it worse, Chris didn't have the best background.

he hated him becuse he was a heavy meatel musician and they are known to be trouble pluse i think chris reminded him of what he used to be like when he was younger....the rebel type

Wild for Selena, besides He seemed to think if they got involved they would risk harming Her Career.
