I know that people may disagree with me, but আপনি know how men are with sex. They usually try and lose their virginity as soon as they can, and it just isn't tied to their emotions as much as it is for women. And let's not forget that he was a Death Eater. He was no saint; I'm sure he had done some awful things. Why would sex be a sin? He probably slept with many girls in his Death Eater days, especially if it helped him to not think of Lily. I could see him using sex as an escape, and then he would think of her again right afterward and feel tormented.

So yeah, I don't see how he could have "died" (*will always be in denial*) in his 30's অথবা 40's and still be a virgin. Most men who would abstain for that long would do it for religious reasons, and I really don't think that Severus was all that religious. And...yeah. I just don't think so. =P

*sigh* Such a tough question. The romantic in me wants to say yes, that he spent his whole life pining over the woman he loved.

The realist (and fangirl) side of me says no. আপনি can have sex with someone without loving them. He was still a man and still had urges.

We can be sure, though, that the lucky woman would not have meant much to him.

Good question. I'm currently লেখা a fanfic dealing with that. I agree with the fact that men (and women too, don't get wrong), view sex and প্রণয় as 2 different things.

I agree with the fact that he's not a saint, on the contrary, I can imagine him being turned into a raping/torturing/killing machine দ্বারা the Dark Lord in his younger Death-Eater days.

Yet, I'd think too that he may have witnessed horrible things such as collective rape, enough to develop a distrust of sex in general. He doesn't give me the impression he's one for physical contact - unless absolutely necessary.

Someone mentioned that only people entering in religious orders may stay virgins (in these lines). Thinking of it, but Severus entered the services of 2 Orders : the ডেথ্‌ ইটার্স্‌ and the Phoenix, serving 2 very demanding masters. Between that and his teaching workload and other Hogwarts duties, he may not have the time to enjoy the joys of sex. What do আপনি think of this ?

Sorry, but that notion of him dying a virgin is plausible enough for me, even if I agree he may have not died as such. He must have had the needs and wants of any man of his age (he died at 38 only...).

Can JKR develop on this ? After all, she hinted that Dumbledore was gay... (as long as she doesn't tell us that Severus was gay too, otherwise, I don't want to hear ! *full denial*)

As pointed out দ্বারা Madame Rosmerta asked Oh Severus...Would আপনি like some mulled wine? Or... Shall we just go....up stair? This alone indicates to me she has been servicing his needs. The term Madame alone tells us alone her side business and for her to make that statement shows a familiar situation. So no I do not believe he was a virgin.

Never really thought about this before. I am just going to imagine that he probably visited a brothel now and then and repeatedly saw a lady with auburn hair who thought his serious nature was hilarious. At least it would be comical :P

প্রণয় is one thing, but sex is quite another. And as Lady Lilith said, he was a Death Eater, so therefore no saint and I am sure he had আরো than one occassion to have a bit of fun. There's no way a man like Snape could have been a virgin, he would have gone crazy. Lack of sex creates frustration and with all that anger, bitterness, loneliness, dissapointment and heartache, sex was probably one of the few things that helped him with the stress.

I think Snape wasn't Virgin . That would be a shame to man (be VIRGIN ) when he dies not to tried forbiden fruit.

I really do agree with the other people here that have posted. At first, I did think his প্রণয় for Lily would've made him die a virgin but, as was said, প্রণয় and sex are two very different things for men. I once read a fanfiction that had ব্যক্ত things along the lines of "Post-victory sex for Death Eaters" and things of that nature. He was a man, not a saint.

Apart from female students,who was there at Hogwarts for him to do anything with - whether he died a virgin অথবা not - that's what I've been wondering? Did he pop down to The Three Broomsticks for a quickie with Madam Rosmerta,perhaps?

I do think he's a virgin because he's always in প্রণয় with lily and he will never betray her দ্বারা having sex with some women
