Okay I don't want to sound stupid but what are the different levels of গান গাওয়া অথবা whatever like alto and something else ad what do they mean?

আপনি have basically 6 levels of voices, 3 for males, 3 for females :

- খাদ : the lowest, deepest voice for a man
- baryton : higher than bass, middle voice for a man
- tenor : the highest voice for a man

- alto : the lowest, deepest voice for a woman
- mezzo : higher than bass, middle voice for a woman
- soprano : the highest voice for a woman

With work, a person can expand their range beyond the usual boundaries of one প্রদত্ত group. Not দ্বারা much because the human voice range is about 2 octaves, but some people can expand it to 3 full octaves.

Usually, choirs have only 4 groups : alto and soprano for ladies - tenor and খাদ for men. But most of the time, as there are few men singing, they are grouped all together. I'm a pure alto but as it so happened, I was asked to sing tenor because there were not enough men in the choir... I enjoyed it too !

Soprano ranges আরো higher notes for females and alto ranges the lower notes for females. Tenor has আরো higher notes for boys, not quite falseto though. And base deals with the lower notes for boys.
