I really think he should talk about it with Dean if anyone would understand it would be him. He needs to let it out :)

I feel like it didn't affect him the same way it did Dean. I feel like when Sammy says he is fine, he genuinely means it. Which scares me a bit. But I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to be proven wrong by the writers. I would love it if Sam had this huge reveal where you see that Hell did affect him just as much as it did Dean, though I get the feeling he was in there a MUCH shorter period of time.

Talking about it with Sam didn't help Dean that much but it was a step in the right direction. So I do think it will help but I'm just not sure how much. Sam generally does heal better when he talks things out. But I really think that something happened Downstairs that he doesn't want to share with Dean.

While he may have been in there a shorter amount of time, if you've been following the spoilers at all, you'll know he was in the ninth circle of hell...aka the slums. The worst of the worst. The deepest, darkest, most torturous spot. On top of that, try being trapped in a cage with two pissed-off archangels. I think his suffering in hell was roughly equal to Dean's.

Whatever happened, he is most certainly NOT fine, IMO; that's why he's become so cold and detached and not-Sammy. It's his way of shutting out the pain. He really needs Dean right now... =(

We don't know what happened, so we don't know what Sam really needs. I know he needs to talk about it, but I don't know how much that'll help. I just hope he goes back to normal, somehow.
