Does anybody know why Red John wanted Hightower killed?

Hightower was "inside" at CBI, Red John had information on her brother ( who was a dealer ( and dead in season 3). Her husband, not sure on his connection. But final answer, he wanted her killed, because she went against him in confidence with Jane to save her family... enough reason; when does he need a reason?
